European based servers, maybe too much lag for US players
Not a bit for me. I'm on the East Coast, admittedly. I am in upstate NY near the Canadian border (about an hour and a half from Niagara Falls). I average 150-200 ping. I can and do outrun kitin regularly (without speed-up). The only 'lag' problems I have ever had are the few times the server's had some issues. (And despite how much complaining happens when that happens, I've had it happen all of 4 times in the 6 months that I've played and it never lasts very long. I play way more than I'm going to admit, so I'm not just "missing" the server issues by having a short play-week.)

In fact, most lag issues mentioned in game usually have to do with the router a player is using, or their computer and their graphics/sound settings, etc.

I can participate in an OP battle with average graphic settings and not lag, but I'm using an nVidia 7900GS (I think it's a GS).

Just wanted to toss out a few pence on the matter of US players and the potential for 'lag' because of it.

On the very oposite side of the US, in Seattle I average about 600 ping with regular spikes upwards of 800, often have "Please Wait" problems and am known for running slower than everyone else and lagging behind groups.

We just can't all be as cool as Jezi *sighs*

Me too. And I live just outside London ;)

Another cause of lag can be your ISP. Lots of factors can affect this, but most of them come down to the ISP being greedy, selling more bandwidth than they have and hoping people dont use all of it (then slapping them with "Fair Usage" policies if they _do_ actually use the "4mb unlimited usage" connection the customer has paid for...).
