Because the counter balancing mechanism of the Spires is missing.
And no, I don't think that the Spires could help balance the situation, as it is now, but in my opinion it had helped a lot, if it has come a year back.

i quite enjoy the PvP dont get me wrong, and i really enjoyed the temple wars but i think having the outposts as they are now does nothing but cause misery and pain and aggression and is hurting many people i know. They either move to Cho, or quit game or have no fun playing - that isnt good for anyone.
I think outposts need to seriously be looked at: nerf the npc's, limit to 50 homins per side, make pure guild v guild, there are lots of things. Doing that would increase the need for spires in one implementation or other, but to be honest instead of said spires some new faction zones (battlegrounds) would seem better.
One of the problems now at least from the perspective of the side i am on is there is a great pressure for every single person to attend every battle, not just people who want to/enjoy doing so. until this artifical constrant is removed (by limiting numbers) it will continue to cause problems.
I want the PvP crowd to have fun, i am part of that crowd, but i want everyone else to have fun as well..

The PvP system is fine. The not being able to get OP like rewards and build things without PvP is the problem

Our system is far from perfect, but I have yet to be forced into PvP so it works for me.

-OP battles:
flawed big time, the over powered bomb heals make it not about strategy/skill/equiptment, just about the amount of people on each side. the battles are repetitive and unexciting, you can tell whos gonna win before the first spell is thrown, just by looking at the size of the blue/red group.
PvP `raids`-
work very well, suprise attacks usually around 9 v 9, this is where the skill experience and technique comes in, but flawed due to game design especially in the towns where respawns are so close and conquering of the town never happens and has no significance
duels- cool, nothing needs changing, would like to see the team pvp option re-enabled, and pvp zone options in the ring
FvF- no point in this, just causes ill will, separation and general badness imo. implementation was flawed in Episode 2, with no warning and expecting everyone to kill the friends that had healed them out of team on GoC jug spot for 8 hours, just because.. well still not sure why... the temples havnt taught us jack.
GvG- bring it on

i voted "no" the PvP system itself is not too bad, the rewards for it (OPs) are to crucial to win or loose for almost any guild's existance to be fun though.

how can anyone of voted yes (not intending to be *****, i really want to know) when the current situation on arispotle is:
very few kami can own outposts, this in turn leads to the karavan having acess to FAR more crystals than the kami, being karavan means you can lvl twice as fast, why would any new player be kami?
because of this alot of people are either quiting in frustation, turning karavan or leaving for cho, this will lead to two servers one kami one karavan.
