Access to it was promoted as a benefit of pre-ordering. That information was posted on the website long when pre-ordering was goign on.

I'm glad you're all proud of yourself for pre-ordering. I paid the same price as you for the game, and I'm paying the same monthly fee. If this policy does not change, I WILL be cancelling. Then you can have even less lag, on the NA server.

You did not mention EQ where you have to sacrifice a character slot for a full-time merchant.

But EQ has a working banking system too on the other hand so that makes perfect sense there.

This is the biggest flaw and is the only reason I feel it is not ready for live. Adding commission would still make it possible to use the vendor for storage but it would add a cost to doing so.

There would be two ways of doing this.

1 - Have the NPC take x% commission off of the remaining price (after the initial buy price). This could be the total price or the remaining balance of the item. This would be the easiest way to do it. However I think this still leave all the other problems in place.

2 - redo the entire system as Opt-In. Take the commission when the play lists the item. Remove the feature where the play gets the buy price when listing the item. At the end of a week if the item isnt sold it is returned to the player. This is just like many other game out there and well it works. It would limit the items to just what people are actually attempting to sell. This solves most of the big issues people have with this system.

Ok, first of all no where does it say that as part of your monthly fee you will have access to the test server. Second if you are going to cancel your membership and stop supporting the game financially because you can't use the test server, then to be very honest you don't deserve to be able to use it anyway.

If other Ryzom players are like you, I'm am GLAD I do not "DESERVE" to play the same game as you. Just think, I actually *wanted* to help Nevrax test their game, and this makes me a bad member of the community.

I would like to know if the "vendors" that players can consign through are seperate from the others or if ANY vendor ends up a consigner.

I CAN see an issue if the "grinding levels" junk ends up with MY name tag on it and someone buys my junk that I NEVER intended to end up in a players hands and they complain.

I am a HORRID perfectionist. If anything is worth doing, it is worth doing it RIGHT, and the first time. So the idea of anything I did NOT do the best on actually getting out there and seen would horrify me.

I LOVE the idea of having a place where I can sell my masterpieces to though. I remember only too well how HARD I worked just trying to fill the needs of the newbie community. It would have been SO much easier to be able to make a full suit of each armor I could make and one of each weapon and when someone shouted for that item I could send them to the consigner and I could stay in the field working on whatever project I was currently on.

The idea of not being able to put AT LEAST one suit of Light, medium and heavy from at least ONE race and at least one of each weapon that is craftable on the consigner is limiting it too much.

I think the idea of a filter for the consigner, similar to the one they had in Horizons would work well. You could limit your downloaded consigner info to what you were looking for, to limit the load time. (little buttons at the top of the consigner window, OR possibly a thing in the options/configure?)

If you haven't ever tried to make three suits of armor...you have NO idea how hard it is to deal with an inventory that is not HALF big enough, and with NO banking system...other than buying an apt or pack animal...how do you deal with the storage needs?

Already my mapping of the fyros mainland is GREATLY limited due to lack of storage space. I am having to run to a stables and cough out the mats I foraged about three times as often as I would like to. And the idea of taking that thing away from the stables ANY time soon...well that just will NOT be happening.

Well.. While wanting to help the community doesn't make you a bad person...

"I'm glad you're all proud of yourself for pre-ordering. I paid the same price as you for the game, and I'm paying the same monthly fee. If this policy does not change, I WILL be cancelling. Then you can have even less lag, on the NA server."

You make an unnecessary condescending remark to a large number of the player base - who've done nothing more than pre-ordering when you didn't. You follow it up with a claim of entitlement because you paid for the game (just like the rest of us). You continue on into giving Nevrax an ultimatum and round it off with another sarcastic remark. You really covered all the bases there... You expect people to endear themselves to you after that?

C'mon... I mean, I understand you're frustrated, but that was one of the most blatant examples of unnecessary and misdirected anger that I've ever seen.

OK, I'll admit I got too worked up. If you go back in the thread, I didn't start with such anger. I had a pretty simple point, and various people agreed with me. Yes I know that pre-order customers deserve to feel special. And maybe Nevrax led them to believe that test server access is a "privilege" for them. But this is a very bad strategy for a game company. Test servers exist to find and eliminate bugs, not just to give a privileged minority an early peak at new features.

Good testing is actual *work*, and nearly any MMO developer will tell you, it's hard to find people who will make a serious effort to test. Most players just want to glimpse the new stuff, log off and go back to their main characters.

Ok guys .. sorry .. but this thread is getting sidetracked ..The thread is now becoming more about who should be able to enter the test server and why. This was not the point of the thread. If anyone would like to still talk about the test server, please start a new thread.

Cerest - I think this thread has already seen as much value as it is going to get and it is going downhill fast. I would like to request that you lock this thread now.

Well, I'm willing to stop sidetracking the thread :P So please continue discussing vendors, if you have gotten to see them.
