Is there a reason why i cant log on?

I tried to get on and it says server is up but when i go to next screen it says I cant log on because i have chosen an invalid server?

Yes. They did a small patch which resulted in a few problems, and are working on it now. Servers shall be back up as soon as they can fix things.
