Maybe a faster hard drive, I don't know what is bank breaking for you tho. a faster drive lets ryzom boot and load zones faster.

edit, it will run smooth with the specs you posted tho :)

My own rig is 5 years old so I don't imagine yours will have any difficulty. However, I have had trouble possibly related to sound card drivers. I suspect that whatever mainboard you get will now cope perfectly well, but if you do experience problems then a sound card may be something that you should consider adding to your system.

If you can, slurg for a better sound card. On boards can sometimes sap your resources with their crappiness, specially with a game as sound intensive as Ryzom.

Other than you're a lucky dog and you have my sad sad little PC beat by a long shot. By boyfriend still plays a 512mb RAM system, heh.

Windows XP will only use 2 Gb of RAM. Assuming you aren't going to upgrade to Vista (jan 31st) or run Ryzom on Linux OS, I would get 2 Gb of RAM while making sure to max out each slot. I have had no interaction with Vista so I have no clue as to it's memory usage as an OS or if Microsoft has better utilized memory management (XP memory management is still flawed but way way better than Windows 98 and hogs more mem than 2k does). That way you can max the RAM slots at a later time if you plan to get 2-3 yrs out of this mobo/cpu combo.

Onboard sound would be a major no no IMO. Typically poor driver support in my experience. But you can always get a soundcard later if you want.
