Crstallize & Enchanting

Post by wizaerd »

Somewhere there was a video tutorial on creating custom actions, and after watching i, it clicked so much better than trying to read how it's done. Could somebody do the same thing for enchanting weapons, crstallizing spells, etc.?

I dont know about a video tutorial but i can put write out the how-to's here..

First off you will need:

##A weapon that has a sap load (found at any weapon merchant)
##The abilty to create Sap crystals (accessible from your magic tree lvl20 IIRC)
##The "use enchant" action (found in your FIGHT tree level 0 - Hit B and look on the right hand side of the box that appears, its there. you can drag it into your hands bar)
##A crystalised spell (right click a spell - Crystalise - take item)

Once you have ALL of the above, do the following

Put the spell on the weapon.:

##Open your inventory (i) and find the Crystalised spell, Right click it and "Enchant to right hand"

Load the weapon with Sap:

##Open your inentory (i) and find the sap crystal, right click it and "recharge"

Use the Spell:

##Find where you dragged the "use enchant" into your hands bar. Target and appropiate targe. Click "Use enchant" - done!

Things to remeber:

The 'sap load' is like ammo, it will deminish, and you will need to reload with more sap craystals.

Making a sap crystal does cost, but a very minute amount.

Things I noticed about this when I was younger are:

- enchantments still use your sap, not just the sap loaded into the weapon
- enchantments eat xp - if you use a high level enchantment while otherwise using low level fight skills it will be treated as if you have used the high level skill.

So I haven't found enchantments useful in general combat, just for emergencies and farming.

I just tried this - using a level 37 skill (ranged weapon), I killed a Growling Clopper (level 35) and received 1382 xp. I then almost killed one (about 3/4 dead), then used a level 160 enchantment to finish it off, and received no xp (got message saying action was too easy).

This makes sense, as not counting the high level enchantment would let you twink yourself.

If you use an enchanted weapon and kill a critter, do you get a mix of fight and magic XP?

(on a side note, not seeing any magic XP messages from healing?)

You´ll only get XP in a Team if the MOB you kill is at least 5 lvls higher (if I´m not mistaken, could be 10 levels) than your current highest Teammembers level.
If you heal off Team you´ll get no XP as you did not participate in the kill. :)

And usually using an enchantment only gets you XP if it´s in your current levelrange.

Enchants count in calculating the XP given out for a kill (can nerf XP if its too high lvl) but it doesn't actually split XP to the skill.

Using just a lvl 100 skill and get 2000XP for example. Use same lvl 100 AND a lvl 120 enchant on the next skill you might get 1000 XP, but it would all go to the actual skill used and none to the enchant skill.

Its a bit more complicated then that. The highest lvl you can use and still get XP is dependant on the number of people in the team as well. Generally you can get XP with max lvl a ways above the lvl of the mob, but it won't be much.
