I don't see a reason to close the thread. There is a decent discussion going on and there will be need for a thread to communicateh about the status of the server until it's live. Once Nevrax has launched it, it might be a good idea to create a new thread with impressions, etc.

Or did I just miss the reason to close this thread?

Une unification des serveurs n'est pas à l'ordre de jour et le serveur Cho n'est en aucun cas une étape vers un serveur unique (en général, dans le cas d'une unification des serveurs, un nouveau serveur n'est pas ouvert mais un serveur existant est choisi pour accueillir les autres serveurs, comme ce fut le cas d'arispotle et de windermeer).

Donc non, Cho ne sera pas un serveur unique et chaque serveur existant (Aniro, Leanon, Arispotle) gardera sa spécificité.

Je profite également de ce post pour préciser que Cho ne va pas être ouvert aujourd'hui.

Well it just says that Cho won't open today, and that it's not made to lead to a server unification; if it was the case, they would have choose one of the servers like they did for Arispotle.

As many of you already know, we won't open Cho now. We decided to not open it, as the issues you raised are relevant and don't fit at all the vision we have for Ryzom. we will let you know when we will open it.

And to remove any doubt about it, as Choule said on the French community board we don't plan to merge all the Ryzom servers together. It has never been our intention.

You cannot change the existing Arispotle server from being a server that requires multi-run events. You could choose to set Cho up and say that the events will be run during 7PM-10PM GMT or EST, or CMT depending on what they want to cater to.

You can't change Arispotle because everything there has meshed together, Guilds have people from everywhere, people have friends from everywhere, etc. Not to mention the fact that no one will be allowed to transfer a character to Cho.

So, sorry.


Just fix it so no trades between servers in Ring scenarios. If someone wants to go off and start a new toon, fine. I hope they enjoy it. I would like to see resources moved so it is not too easy for someone to go own the server (That would include the seasonality and weather of Exc and Sups) However there should be the abililty to provide rewards on Ring Scenarios. Good luck with controlling that though, maybe it is only allowed if the scenario is open to everyone.

A more detailed posting on the purpose of this new Cho server would be great. A lot of us don't see why you need a new server for English considering the current population of Arispotle.
