Heheh =D - but if there were more colours, I could match the blue on the knee pads or pockets of my pants =D - or even match the colours on my Amps... then, that would take us into the realms of adding colour to weapons...katriell wrote:Heh, probably not. XD The psychology would remain.

Re: Why the desire for clothing?
Hmm...would be interesting, plausible, and maybe not too much work (for the devs) to be able to tint the color of a piece with dye. For example, if the mats make it blue, you can't make it red but you can affect the shade of blue.bra1ndg wrote:Heheh =D - but if there were more colours, I could match the blue on the knee pads or pockets of my pants =D - or even match the colours on my Amps... then, that would take us into the realms of adding colour to weapons...

katriell wrote:You are not stuck. Almost every day I set out to silently prove that unique mixes of armor are possible, and I do. Have you ever seen someone wearing beige Matis MQ HA boots and pants, Fyros LQ MA sleeves, and Tryker HQ LA vest and gloves?
Their fault. If they wanted to look unique, they could.
Sorry...I prefer self-help over asking the developers to invest massive art work, plus modelling, animation, debugging, and integration work, into dozens or hundreds more armor pieces. :/
And, Mrsno, I know you agree about "letting the devs focus on other parts of the game." I'm just...well, attacking what is expressed in those two quotes.
I dont understand this position.
Less options = better?
Or
More options = bad?
Why is this community so opposed to change?

Overall I think we're only against change towards conformity.

Re: Why the desire for clothing?
What I said has nothing to do with more or less options. I was pointing out that if there is a seeming lack of armor diversity, it's only because some people don't really try to look diverse.truce1 wrote:I dont understand this position.

Re: Why the desire for clothing?
The reality of the matter is that new armor and/or clothing for a game like Ryzom is an aweful lot of work. It's not a quick fix, from design to development to release, an aweful lot needs to be done.
There are a lot of more important fixes, additions, and improvements that need to be done which I would value more than new armor or clothing at this time. New armor/clothing is something I would like to see in the future, however.

Conformant is a choice of the developers. But i still dont understand this statement either.
Most MMO's have at least ...well... TONS of things in common with each other.. That not copying, or is it conforming, because each puts its own spin on things.. Such as Ryzoms skill based system.. that a common.. but the difference is the stanzas and making your own actions.
Why are people thinking that they would just straight copy?
Seems to me so far they have done a great job of incorporating things into this game and making it its own.
If you really want to be real about it There is really nothing in ryzom that hasnt been done before.. or is truly unique Its the sum of the differences that they used to make it their own that makes ryzom unique.
