Chapter 12 The Zorai Seal

The meeting went on for awhile they discussed matters about protection, trade, and trust. Neither side really agreed with one another, at times it became so tense that a war might start but that was mostly with the Elders and the Master, Hoï-Cho and Ma’Darrel seemed to be in different realms for they barely noticed the fighting. Co’Mo’Sarn and Co’Mo’Sean didn’t like the atmosphere of the room and ready to stop a fight.

“That is not our fault we don’t control the bandits in Beach of Bounty!” Wlyer snapped.

“You want us to trade with you, Prime Root is safer then that desert.” A male Elder snapped at Wlyer.

“Beach of Bounty is called that for a reason, homins got here to get rich off the materials other then that that region has been abandon except for a tribe or two.” Wlyer explained in a harsh voice.

“We will not risk our men to trade for your goods you have nothing of value to us!” The same Elder yelled.

“Your lands aren’t any safer and besides we just want your trust which is something we don’t have. We know all about your mage trainer trying to kill our friends.

“That..” He began to yell but Hoï-Cho and Ma’Darrel raised their hands for silence.

“Ma’Darrel my time is coming to an end and I can’t promise the protection you ask for. From what your team has told me it is a threat we need each other to help stop but until that time comes I’m afraid there will be no alliance. I hope you’ll understand?” Hoï-Cho explained.

“I fully understand and I know when the time comes we shall fight side by side. We may never be friends but when the time comes we will help your people if we can.” Ma’Darrel said as he rose from his seat.

“Ma’Darrel you are a grand leader and maybe a foolish one but you won’t stop till there is peace. All of you should be very proud, oh Ma’Darrel I would like you to stay for the Seal ceremony after all it is your people that shall be receiving our seal.” Hoï-Cho said with a smile as he arose.

“I would be honored.” Ma’Darrel said as he shook hands with Hoï-Cho. They bowed and walked out of the meeting hall with their people behind. As they walked out and down the stairs of the castle Ma’Darrel smiled at the group and explained to them how proud he was of them and how he would meet them at the ceremony later tonight. They then left the group alone to chat.

When the group was outside Aqua just blurted out, “Jin’Vena I have to know why are you in such a fine dress it like you are going to get…..No Jin?” Aqua asked then jumped with joy and hugged Jin as tight as she couldn’t breathe.

“Dak’Cove you didn’t?” Windra asked with a brow raised everyone else expect Le’Bele was snickering.

“Aqua you’re crushing my spine and yes Dak’Cove admitted his love to me while you were away and we plan to be wed.” Jin’Vena coughed as she pushed Aqua’s grip away.

“Isn’t it a bit soon?” Ga’Lorda asked before Windra could.

“Well we’ve known each other for several year and we’ve loved one another years too.” Jin’Vena explained.

“Sorry if I’m not excited for you.” Le’Lele said in low voice.

“It’s ok you get to know us in know time and soon you’ll know more about me like how I’m a..” La’Beka started to say but Be’Cona cut in.

“A wild drunk?” He laughed.

“A thick headed warrior?” Windra laughed.

“A flirt?” Aqua giggled.

“I’m going for all of the above.” Ga’Lorda and Sa’Binga laughed, Jin’Vena’To Dak’Cove, Co’Mo’Sarn and Co’Mo’Sean just shook their head.

“Ah ok.” Le’Bele said as she slipped away.

“Thanks guys I just wanted her to know I’m a good friend.” La’Beka snapped.

Le’Bele, Aqua, and Windra just glanced at each other.

“Can we talk about something else I mean we have all day.” Le’Bele asked not wanting to hear the group rant.

“Well I’m not sure what to talk about so let’s go do something…umm lets change first.” Le’Beka said but noticed they were still in their fine clothes.

“Aye if you up for it we can teach all of you a few new skills.” Co’Mo’Sarn said before she walked off to get changed.

“Ok.” Windra said as he left to go change as did everyone else.

“Hey Windra?” La’Beka asked as they changed their clothes in the stables.

“Yeah.” Windra replied as he slipped off his boots.

“Only the masters, Elders, and leaders of the homins know about the Guardians, why? I mean if the guardians are a great force then why aren’t we known all over Atys?” La’Beka explained as he changed his armor.

Windra had never really thought of this why weren’t they known? “I’m not sure.” Windra finally replied.

After that there was silence from Windra, he was to busy thinking about what La’Beka said.

“Ok La’beka, Be’Cona come with me, Ga’Lorda, Sa’Binga go with Jin and Dak, and Windra, Aqua, Le’Bele go with Co’Mo’Sarn.” Co’Mo’Sean said as he walked off to a open forest area to the north of Zorai with La’Beka and Be’Cona behind him.

“Ok time you test your knowledge.” Co’Mo’Sarn said when it was only her and Windra, Aqua, and Le’Bele.

“What is the main problem so many young mages suffer from?” She asked in a stern voice.

“They can’t concentrate on their spell in the heat of battle.” Le’Bele quickly replied.

“Aye and but all mages over come this fear as they grow, but you need to able to hold a spell even when a dagger is at your throat. There’s where it becomes complex, what do you do when a dagger is at your throat, you give up and beg them, finish the spell and die or counter their attack.” Co’Mo’Sarn explained with a growing grin.

The guardians just starred, knowing what was going to happen.

Then in the blink of an eye Co’Mo’Sarn was in front of La’Bele foot ready to trip her and daggers at Windra’s and Aqua’s throat.

“To slow..huh good but can you finish the job?” Co’Mo’Sarn said then she noticed that Aqua, Le’Bele and Windra had a fist at her chest plate as they cast a one hand spell. Sadly they could not keep the spell in place and it soon vanished; as it did Co’Mo’Sarn back away.

“One handed spells aren’t easy to control and even harder when you are about to killed. You need to tap into your inner strength and send it into your fist in the form of a spell, easier said then done.” Co’Mo’Sarn said while she shot a small acid ball at Aqua; who easily dodge it.

“Hmm.” Co’Mo’Sarn said to herself with a smirk, then shot a wave of acid at all of three of them; they dodged this attack just as easily.

“Ok there’s the thing I won’t let you receive the Zorai seal until you master the ability to tap into your inner strength. The Zorai are masters of magic and this is one of the greatest honors you will ever receive.” Co’Mo’Sarn said as she produced a magic barrier so no magic would leave the area.

“Ready?” She asked as she faced her left foot in front of her and her right into the ground.

They nodded and the second they did Co’Mo’Sarn cast acid ball at the guardians, they dodge it easily, but it exploded in mid-air and burst into hundreds of acid balls that went everywhere. Le’bele, Aqua, and Windra quickly dodged, duck, twisted, jumped, and bent in different directions to avoid as many acid orbs as possible.

“You can’t dodge my attacks for ever, now avoid my attacks and attack me with your inner strength.” Co’Mo’Sarn boomed as she cast a wave of poison.

Windra was wide open for this wave of poison, he no where to go, he quickly chanted as the wave grow closer. When he finished chanting he quickly slammed his fist into the ground and produced a shield of vines of decay; they absorbed the poison but if Windra had been just one second off he have been hit. As the wave of poison poured over this shield he noticed that in the darkness of the vines a gust of wind was traveling around his right arm.

“Windra!” Aqua cried as she slipped her mage gloves on and then pressed her hands against the wave that was beating down the Windra’s shield. She began to feed all the magical energy she could into her gloves hoping her magic would over come the wave.

“Nice try Aqua but you’ll need a lot more energy to stop this wave.” Co’Mo’Sarn said over the sounds of crashing and electricity they was coming from magic clashing against magic.

“Le’Bele help me!” Aqua yelled over the noise. Thinking quickly Le’Bele quickly pulled out her mage gloves and did as Aqua but instead she cast a shockwave ball and sent in straight into the wall of poison, knowing it would just die away, she pushed the orb deeper in the wall; trying to break it.

“If this is my inner strength that I’m feeling then I don’t neep this shield.” Windra thought to himself as he let go of the bonds of the shield and let in die away. “Thank you Co’Mo’Sarn!” Windra cried as he jumped through the shield and slammed his right fist; that pulsed with the energy of the winds into the wall of poison before it had a chance to move.

As Windra dug his hand deeper into the wall it began to fade in and out. “Le’Bele, Aqua put more force into your attacks so we can break this wall!” Windra yelled over the sounds of crashing magic.

“Fool you can’t break my spell you need the power of the guardians to stop this wall of poison!" Co’Mo’Sarn boomed, she wasn’t herself, she was someone else.

“Think Aqua what could tap our inner strength?” Aqua thought to her self as did everyone.

Windra and Aqua they had a flash back to when they first began their magic training.

Aqua and Windra were at a remote island not far from Fairhaven; with their Magic Trainer Le’Ve’Chomea.

“Master why are we here?” They asked her.

“To get far from the town where you can better feel the power Atys, tell me how do we tap into our inner strength.” She asked her young students.

“Feel the power of Atys?” Aqua asked her master in a shy voice.

“Close but not right, try again.” She replied as she gazed at the sparkling lakelands.

“I don’t know master Chomea?” Windra and Aqua said, ashamed of them selves.

“Hehe its ok there is what we you need to understand, Atys is the source of all magic, and its sap that gives us the energy to cast spells. To tap into your inner strength you must have something worthy of fighting for, a loved one, family, friends, or your people. Remember your inner strength and only be used to help not destroy.” Their master explained.

Aqua and Windra quickly returned to their bodies and slammed their hands deeper into the wall; energy surging from their fist.

“Le’Bele…” Windra was about to say.

“I know!” She replied, she was already digging her hand deeper into the wall, energy flowing from her fist. With all their might slamming into the wall it began to fade away but Co’Mo’Sarn wasn’t about to give up so easily, she gave more energy to the wall, strengthening it.

Not willing to give up and using as much into strength as they could muster they slowly destroyed the wall but the wall was taking its toll on the guardians. The wall was burning their wrist.

“Jena…Atys..Tryker State!” They mumbled as the burning became greater, then just as the wall faded completely they yell Tryker State. They found they just a few of the items and beings that gave them strength.

“Well done.” Co’Mo’Sarn said with a warm and cheerful smile but the smile faded away quickly then she noticed that their hands were burned. She whipped away the rest of the wave as she came close to it.

“Have a seat and I’ll heal your burns.” Co’Mo’Sarn said as she examined their hands to see what see had to do; minor burns, almost major burns if they had continue. You know I never really thought that you would break my wall of poison spell, but you proved me wrong.” He laughed as she chanted.

“We just remember what our old mater once told us, inner strength comes from what we fight for, but to truly tap into it we must fight for what we love and that love must be pure.” Aqua explained as Co’Mo’Sarn finished up healing her burns which weren’t as bad as the others; Co’Mo’Sarn jus smiled as she worked.

“Le’Bele looked up to the sky and noticed that I was turning crimson, “Co’Mo’Sarn what time is the ceremony?” She asked.

“Hmm they said tonight…sooo I would say they should be getting ready for the ceremony which means you three need to change and meet the elders at the stage.” Co’Mo’Sarn said as she finished up on Windra; while she was healing she looked into the guardians eye’s and saw three great homins.

“There we go, now off with you go change I’ll get the other.” Co’Mo’Sarn said as she stood and look to the horizon.

“Yes.” They quickly replied and ran off to the stables.

“Great power lies within them, don’t worry guardians your friend are here to help you.” Co’Mo’Sarn said to herself as she went of to find her husband and the others.

Before anyone knew it the ceremony was only a few moments away, Windra, Aqua, and Le’Bele were kneeling on the stage before the Elder of Zorai wearing there best robes, they tried to wear Zorai colors but they weren’t sure which would be right for this ceremony.

Ma’Darrel, Wlyer, the Maters, Co’Mo’Sarn, Co’Mo’Sean, La’Beka, Be’Cona, Ga’Lorda, and Sa’Binga Jin’Vena’To and Dak’Cove all stood at the of the stage in front of the Elders awaiting Hoï-Cho. As they waited Zorai of all genders and ages began to appear around the stage, some to see the ceremony, other to see who receive their seal, and many were there to honor all Zorai kind.

The crowd was quiet loud, its seem that no one really knew who was going to receive the Zorai Seal, this ceremony must be a stir of the moment ceremony.

“Who is receiving the Zorai Seal?”

“What are Trykers doing here?”

“They’re here for the meeting about trade or something.”

Were just a few of the questions and answers that were asked as they waited for Hoï-Cho to arrive. A warm relaxing wind traveled through the town moments before the crowd shushed for Hoï-Cho had just appeared at the Zorai castle entrance. As he walked down the stairs and towards the stage; everyone tensed up, he was dressed in the finest Zorai robe any of the Tryker had ever seen. Zorai symbols lined the trim; swirls and twist of colors were sown up and down the robe. One could say it was a painting. He stood out even more with the three Zorai guards in plain high quality purple heavy armor; one at each side and one behind him; the two at his side carried an electric staff and the one behind him carried an electric boomer rifle.

“Welcome my people; it warms my heart to see so many of you at this ceremony on such short notice.” Hoï-Cho boomed as he reached the staged.

“On this fine evening we honor three brave Trykers, Windra, Aqua, and Le’Bele. These Tryker have proven that they have the knowledge and understanding of the mystical ways that our greatest mages do. It is true that not many homins from the other land are worthy of receiving our seal and that’s what makes this ceremony such an honor for all of Zorai and the jungle as is for all of Tryker kind and Tryker State.” Hoï-Cho boomed.

“Windra , Aqua, Le’Bele please step forward.” Hoï-Cho told the guardians; they did as they were told and knelt before Hoï-Cho.

“Rise, on this evening Ma-Duk smiled upon us with great pride. The Kami have truly gifted you young ones, you have traveled through your lands and through Prime Root; this is truly a sign of greatness. You haven shown the Elders and myself that you know some of the greatest secrets of magic and understand them.

It’s on this that I bestow the Zorai Seal, this seal is proof that you are a great Zorai ally and master of magic. The Seal is made of the sacred wood that a Zoria’s mask is made from, it bares our symbol and the symbols of the elements, and do you accept the seal?” Hoï-Cho explained about the seal and then asked the guardians if they accept the seal.

“Grand Sage of Zorai Hoï-Cho we accept the seal with great honor and we shall carry the seal with pride.” Windra, Le’Bala, and Aqua said at the same time and with great pride and honor in their voices.

Hoï-Cho smiled and held of his hands as a small hand held chest appeared in his hands. It was decorated with Zorai spiritual symbols and on its lid was the Zorai race symbol. He slid his right hand over the cover and unlatched the lock and opened the chest slowly. It inside the chest laid three wood circles on red silk. At a closer look the circles were made from the same wood as a Zorai’s mask and engraved into the wood was the Zorai symbol; from the finest amber one would say. The seal had crystal trim that stood for all five elements and sparkled and glimmered in the lights of the stage. They had an aura of pure good and extremely powerful magic to them.

“I can tell by your faces that you can sense the aura of the seals, theses seals are forged only by magic only the wood has been touched in the process of their creation. Please if you will Aqua please take the seal that you are drawn to.” Hoï-Cho said as Aqua stepped forward and grasped the seal in the center of the chest. The second she did an energy rushed through body.

“Le’Bele.” Hoï-Cho said

“Now Windra.” Hoï-Cho said as Le’Bele backed away. Each of them felt a rush of energy when they took the seal from the chest.

“Thank you Grand Sage Hoï-Cho we are greatly honored.” They said with a bow of honor.

“You have earn our seal and I know you shall carry it with great pride, sadly I must say that this is the end of the ceremony. The night grows and I can’t have my people up all night they need sleep as well.” Hoï-Cho boomed as he bid adue to this people with a bow; they did the same in returned then returned home.

“May Ma-Duk be with you on your travels guardians I hope we may meet again. Now I bid you farewell and good night.” Hoï-Cho said as he bowed to the guardians and returned to the castle with the Elder behind him but not before they gave a bow to the Guardians as well.

Even tho the ceremony was over and it was just Windra, Aqua, Le’Bele and the others they still just stood around eachother gazing at the seals. They were beyond words no one could find a word that could fully describe their beauty.

“Well lets go to the local bar and celebrate.” La’Beka said as he clapped his hands and grinned.

“Sorry La’Beka we must return to the LakeLands but have a drink for us will you?” Da’Marrel said with a smile. Good luck my friends the Karavan and the Kami are with, you farewell for now, we’ll await news of your journey.” He continued then Wlyer and himself hugged La’Beka, Be’Cona, Windra, Aqua, Ga’Lorda, and Sa’Binga Jin’Vena’To Dak’Cove, Co’Mo’Sarn and Co’Mo’Sean before they bowed with the masters and walked away into the city.

“Umm ok that was weird, so anyone up for a drink?” La’Beka asked again with an even bigger grin.

“Fine but no over drinking like last time.” Windra said as she wrapped his seal with a cloth we carried around and placed the seal safely in his bag; Aqua and Le’Bele wrapped up their seals as well and placed them safely in their bags.

“Deal but you paying!” La’Beka laughed then ran off to the nearest bar.

“Le’Beka get back there and this time you’re paying the bill with tip!” Be’Cona yelled as he ran after La’Beka. Everyone else just laughed as they walked to the bar.

Tonight they celebrate; tomorrow they continue their journey to the Fryos Empire Pyr
