Endless frustrating problems

for 7months no problem at all
then today go to start Sor and keep getting error report that some files are corrupted or missing.
tries to patch to fix but fails

So ok i decide to reinstall and download the game again.

finally suceed in doing that after 6hrs then more problems in installing (turned of antivirus seemed to work during the install)

now i have got to the point where its installed and has done the patch update and i can just manage to log in for 1min until i get another error window saying something about the program trying to access a virtual address it does not have permission for :S

computer is running on winXP sp2
3mhz P4 processor geforce 512mb grpx card and 2gig of ram
please help i am hot and possibly going insane trying to fix this

I'd recommend you jump onto Klients and ask Zerlin or one of the other GMs. That'll get you your fastest response time...

Be sure to run a memory check, and check your hard disk for possible corruption (chkdsk, scandisk). This sounds like a possible hardware failure.

Heat may be the issue. Make sure you don't have a dead or dieing fan and that everything is dusted out.
And by all means download memtest from http://www.memtest.org and gicve it a try.

Try checking the nVidia controls/properties directly after a crash and see what the temperature is.
