Crafting and emote questions

I am on the new player island and very much enjoying the game so far. The game seems to have most of the good points of SWG (I fled it in disgust on Nov 15th and have been playing EVE since then).

So I have 2 questions.

1) Regarding crafting, can the colour of armour and clothing be chosen by the crafter or is it more like WOW and you are stuck with what ever colour you get. If colour can be changed can it be changed before and after the crafting process or only during?
2) Emotes, I used to use them in SWG all the time, I see a limited selection in game but they don’t seem to animate the character? Is this working as intended? And are there more emotes available that the 8 or 10 I see on screen?

All in all this game is really impressing me, and the maturity on these forums even more so.

Color is controlled by the color of the mats you use. If you use a mix of colors, the color that occurs the most controls the final color of the item. For example, if you use 6 red resins and 6 blue wood and 4 red oil and 4 green sap to make some armor, it'll be red. I don't know what happens if there's a tie, though.

There are a ton of emotes and some do and some don't animate your character. To find them all, right click on a target (player, mob, wev) and select emotes from there. You'll find them all. If you like one, you can do it again, by typing "/" and the emote name in the chat.

I don't know what happens if there's a tie, though.

I think : Regional colours dominate over Basic and Fine colours, but if there's a tie between colours of the same grade (red v blue, say) "resin rules" or "lining licks all". If anyone knows better, I'm interested to know
