Could you make the game trial any less enthusing?

---Sunday night read an message from friend saying SoR could be a good game for me.

---One hour later, started downloading the game

---After spending the 2 hr download reading up on the game was delighted download finished

---Download finished, eager to play, installed...Cab11 (or similar) error came up

---Read forums, tried it again with anti-virus program turned off

---Same result

---Tried downloading program with anti-virus programs turned off

---2.5 hrs game downloaded, but it was 01:00 on a Sunday and I had to work next day so I thought I'd leave it till next day

---Monday- came home from pub, thought 'way hey, that new game, must try that'. Tried that, didn't effing work. Same corrupt error.

---Read forums to discover not alone in having problems downloading game. Annoyed but not yet turned off. Took forum advice to download bitTorrent version (supposedly better) and less likely to be corrupt (whatever that means.

---Left pc on with BitTorrent download going.

---Tuesday- woke up, checked pc, somehow BitTorrent download stopped. Possibly not SoR's fault. Maybe uTorrent or my fault. No worries, download again.

---Tuesday night- home late, another post pub trial. Tried the newly downloaded BitTorrent version. Same effing error.

---Wednesday morning- read the forums in more detail, found someone posted a link to a supposedly 'less likely to be corrupt version'. Set uTorrent to download whilst I went to work.

---Wednesday night- home from work, tried the new version (third time lucky i thought), and yes, same result, no go.

I happen to be possibly the most impatient person in England. But I've tried. I'm not alone, so it seems. As someone who's UO account is still 7 yrs old, who has tried SWG, Jumpgate, D&DO, Eve Online, WoW and probably one or two others I can't recall, your trial is surely not working for me.

My patience has been tried and tested. I mean this post not to be one whereby I look for help, I mean to merely emphasise the fact that your trial is crocked, and if I, an MMORPG veteran has problems, and I, the most impatient person in England will bother three attempts on the basis the game sounds very good, then god help the less patient.

A trial is a crucial period for any game. If it's good they're hooked. But blimey, could you guys make it any harder to get into the game? I've not been successful, and I'm clearly not alone, I wish you all the best with what clearly sounds like a good game but it's beyond me.

I have to agree with you on this one. I too spent 3 days on and off downloading every file and bit torrent on this site to no avail.
I have played many other games without this problem. It's such a shame really as the game looks interesting.
I'll try to keep an eye on the forum and see if things get fixed.

There was a problem with the client a short while ago, but I thought this had been cleared up.... I know I had to re-DL it around the same time frame you did (last Sunday night) because my regular PC was having graphics card issues, and I got out the old dinosaur (1 GHz) to use as a temporary replacement. I was able to DL it without any corruption.

So, I don't think the file itself is corrupted, but something about the DL process is causing corruption. I used the regular DL, not BitTorrent... so I am not sure what is going on here.

Clearly something Nevrax needs to look into.
