The canopy.
The sea (More wide open than tryker, with islands, rather than land, with lakes).
Or the ruins of the old cities, opened up bit by bit with riches to be found sifting the glories of old.

Every time I explore, even after over a year of playing, I see something I hadn't seen before.

And I think it´s just what you said GrimJim, with R² we´ll be able to build just that. (at least when the Map-editor hopefully comes).
New maps with new contend and new settings, made by us.
Okay, we´ll not be able to build a giant mountain or rolling hills at first, but for example, I´m pretty sure that there will be few Prime Roots Maps in between these 200 new ones, if these can be equiped with ruins and other stuff, well...
It´s a new site to explore, isn´t it?

It looks to me like a lost line in an unrelated article, a shocking statement in a section about players being content creators and the ring, but this particular statement "Work is concurrently underway on a number of new high-level zones" has been pointed out by several players

However, when I read this, I had several questions: can we get more details on this? yes, we know Nevrax seems now to be unwilling to give dates and promise features given the past history but, just what about some hints? an update of the in development sections? for now it is a line from an unofficial source -- I am not saying that source has no credibility, and that announcement is vaporware -- but it does remain vague...as vague as any other announcement that has been made in the past. I surely hope that work is *underway* and that it has been for months! (otherwise the "work has not even started regarding new high level areas" would be depressing).

I wish we had the communication we used to have (dev chats, gone; executive letters, gone; questions and answers, gone; ...), because when I read that statement, I thought "does this mean we are going to have lots of instanced quests (sorry Jy ) and a high level NPE after the ring is released?"... about a year ago, after the announcement of the ring, I asked in a QA what was the long term view of ryzom, Chapter 4 and so on... the answer I got from Xavier was "apart from the ring, which has been in heavy development, there are several projects we are considering"... In other words, when asked about long term plans and view I just answer "I have no idea, the ring, the spires and then who knows".

i don't understand what happened with the communication thing, i really don't. we had a situation about a year ago when there was a lot of interation between devs and players, which came about from repeated requests for it. and now its all been taken away again, with a vague suggestion that questions might be answered in the threads they are originally posted in.

So here's a question - why? communication is vital, it keeps people happy, and garners a lot of respect from your playerbase..

Ok, I grant you that some communication is in fact missing, the lettersa nd the chats mostly. But not so long ago Xavier himself came down from the heavens and answered questions about the Ring.
