That's because Atys is a "living" planet, right? So it is made more of living stuff (and the remains of living stuff) than of minerals (as our world is). At least, that is how I understand the Lore.

Yep. Atys is a giant plant. So you would only find plant and animal materials/remains. The sand on beaches and in deserts is fine bark dust, presumably produced by erosion of the bark caused by wind and continental shift (as Atys grows).chessack wrote:That's because Atys is a "living" planet, right?
