The forums may seem inactive from the outside, usually you only see the public part of the forum. The guild list is kept up-to-date usually.junkyman wrote:Any "patient" Tryker guilds out there? I've looked at the guilds listing but most seem inactive (they have forums that only have 1 or 2 posts in the past 2 months :/ and those with no pages of their own, don't know how to choose between them since I don't know yet what kami/karavan is all about and why I should care one way or the other.

Re: Gameplay questions....
First thing, heard in chat tonight that if you have any unfinished quests, you can't move to mainland, which is a pain, got 3 of them that I'm not interested in finishing (since I can't do them alone, hehe). Oh well, guess I gotta getterdone p
Second, not sure what level you need to move to mainland, currently;
Fight
26 Melee
21 Ranged
Magic
23 defensive
30 offensive
Craft
38 armor
24 jewel
27 melee weapon
21 ranged weapon
harvest
41 forage
are those "good" or "bad" numbers? )

Re: Gameplay questions....
Those are GOOD numbers, you POWERLEVELER you! Seriously, well done, I left for mainland way way way before reaching those levels.
I doubt there is a rule you must finish all quests before leaving for mainland, I can be wrong - but it doesn't sound like Ryzom.

Re: Gameplay questions....
What I heard was any you had accepted had to be finished, not all available missions.
If you accept a mission, you had to finish it before moving to mainland.
Hopefully in 16 hours or so (after RL work) I'll have moved to mainland and will be approaching guilds to get aquainted
edit: finished the putting healing potion in the goo pot, up to 42 forage now
will have to do #1 red blade mission and magician service to people #2 (odd one, supposed to kill 10 puny gingos, killed 2 by myself, still says to kill 10 of them, do I "have" to be in a group like the mission states?)

Re: Gameplay questions....
On the mainland you can abandon missions. Can't you do this will the island missions as well?junkyman wrote:If you accept a mission, you had to finish it before moving to mainland.
I would say so yes. If the mission says you must be in a group then you wont get a missions step for killing them solo.junkyman wrote:will have to do #1 red blade mission and magician service to people #2 (odd one, supposed to kill 10 puny gingos, killed 2 by myself, still says to kill 10 of them, do I "have" to be in a group like the mission states?)

Re: Gameplay questions....
you dont need to be in a group for the 'group' missions. it's better, more fun etc, but everything even the boss kills can be done solo.. some of the mission steps dont count down so you need to do all of them before you see any progress, it's a bit annoyingphilu wrote:I would say so yes. Re: Gameplay questions....
i finished the fighter trainer... got the sword, and went to main-land. I'm sure you don't have to finish it.
Re: Gameplay questions....
There has been quite a bit of discussion about the ability to abandon missions on newbie island in the Universe Channel. General consensus is that you cannot. If you also have to have all completed before moving up, that would make it more frustrating and complex.
As for knowing the difference between Kami and Karavan, this site has a great place with all the history and lore of the world in it. Great place to look. Very nice read.
For a quick note about this whole faction thing: As a Tryker.. it will be easier for you to follow Jena and the Karavan. You can go Kami if you like, but will take more time to work your fame up.
There are some great Tryker only guilds out there and some great guilds that allow all races. I recommend you find one that fits your personality - people you can get along with and have fun with.

Am I the only one that finds that a bit weird? The mission says you have t do it in a group, but you don't have to.....?
