Umm...ok...let me try to understand where our viewpoints diverge...

We are both neutral.
I PR forage in Lands of Umbra on occasion. I don't know if you PR forage or if so, how often.
We both experienced Episode 2.
We have both participated in outpost PvP multiple times.
We both roleplay.

And yet, you think you are denied some part of the game by opting out of PvP. I do not. From where does this dichotomy originate?

It isn't, unless you RP a pacifist. But still, RP in and of itself is not fundamentally opposite to PvP.

If you want to access the whole game then you have to accept the fact that you will be killed in the pvp zones - as this will invariably happen. As you cannot accept this fact judging by your behaviour in the old lands event - you have limited yourself - thats no one elses doing but your own.

And the thing we get worked up about is when you tell us how we should be playing our game - just because you dont like the way were playing it.

No, you don't have to accept it.

No, I have not limited myself - I have _been_ limited.

No, I don't tell you how you should play your game and have no way to make you in any case, you however can dictate to others how they experience their game because you are empowered to do so by ill thought out game mechanics.

It's not truly optional unless content is divorced from PvP or unless there are alternate methods to access the same content - even at a reduced level.

I think you should be able to PvP to your heart's content - with other people that want to PvP.

I don't like foraging. However, if I did I think I should be able to do it without having to submit myself to PvP. Mind you, foraging isn't necessarily the only reason to dash through these areas and the problem with it isn't limited to digging but also to healing/teaming in such areas.

I'd hope we could all agree the problems with healing/teaming are problems and are PvP related.

It is more enjoyable without our own OP - but bloody annoying that OPs weren't anything like what was discussed or presented. It's also annoying that - yet again - they're PvP only content.

I don't beleive it is fair to deny people access to content by making access to it only available via a singuler playstyle, one that was counter very much to the guiding spirit of the game post launch and to much of the initially presented material, one that doesn't seem to have aided the game's popularity any (quite possibly the opposite) and which a significant proportion don't like.

If I'm a non-PvPer but still identify with a faction, I cannot access the chat faction for my faction.

If I'm neutral I can no longer move around the planet - not necessarily silly when it comes to the PR and high end areas but very silly when I can't get to the towns to trade.

If I'm a non-PvPer I have to subject myself to PvP in order to go after the top end materials - which have uses beyond PvP.

If I'm a non-PvPer my ways to access the outposts are limited - admittedly they're not as advertised and not as appealing any longer to non-PvPers (no longer being the rebuilding our lands tack but rather yet more war) but their content has implications for crafters and simply those who like to look good, or train a little faster in the more tedious trees, not just for PvP.

If I'm a non-PvPer I've had to endure it for a couple of the more significant events, ones that have actually changed the face of Atys.

I agree here. Jim, I´m not into PvP aswell, But I can and do accept it as part of the game that we play. If my charakter get´s ganked, or killled, or whatever you may call it, I say "**** happens" and that´s it.
If I you play "Iudo" or Chess, or chekkers, or whatever (Hope I got the right translation), you agree that other palyers can and WILL kick your pawn from the board, where´s the problem with that? It´s a friggin Game.
I don´t want to see you in a Chess Forum : "Change the rules so noboby can be kicked from the board." Or what?
Man, as much as I admire your sometimes good Ideas for SoR and your sometimes valuable criticism, sometimes you realy overdo it.

Just let them play the way they like. Accept that there are some people who realy like PvP and enjoy playing it the way it is. And some who sadly enjoy ganking poeple, but that´s their problem. If you don´t get worked up about it everytime they´ll maybe leave you be someday. Just like back on the schoolyard
AND even IF they do realy RP this. (wich isn´t so unlikely at all) If they want to play outcasts of society, Barbarians, Bandits, Brigands or whatever, so let them.
Just accept that in games liek this, you´re aplayer as any other. Not someone who has anything to say about how the game should work, or not work. You are a player, just as we all are.

Sorry, for getting so worked up about this but, Man, don´t you see that you´re back on your old course again? And most of us know where that brought you.

From reading your argument over and over again jim i think ive come to my final final final say on the matter....excluding ps, pps, and ppps's.

You are unhappy that of late the new game content has all been pvp related and only accesible through pvp, and this you understandably do not like.

You argue that the non pvpers are not being well catered for or rewarded for their continued support by nevrax, as the pvp crowd have their ways of gaining access to the latest content but you do not. Fair enough. That is clearly the case.

It would appear to me therefore that your argument is with nevrax, and not the pvpers.

The way the pvp crowd gains access to the new content is via pvp. That system IS in place, and the pvpers ARE catered for, were perfectly happy and accomodated.

Arguing that 'on occasions' we should not pvp in the pvp zones - because of the people who dont like pvp - is somewhat ridiculous. Fair play, you cant get to the new content any other way. But im afraid that is not our doing - thats game mechanics.

So it looks to me as if youre saying im not accomodated for and the pvpers are. So youre going to take part in something you dont enjoy, to gain access to the content that you do deserve access to, but in the process, as youre not enjoying myself, youre going to be decidedly unpleasant, thus completely ruining the game experience of those people who ARE there because they DO enjoy it.
