hi guys first time playing ryzom, just downloaded it and i am very impressed with the game interface, customability as well as the graphics of the game.

Hope to see you folks in game.

Chose a double mage pack + crafter pack.

my ign will be kemistry and any advice in game or here would be great!!

Welcome to atys, hope you enjoy a long stay.

Been said before but wirth saying again - don't let the Starter Isle put you off. It's under populated compared to the mainland.

As soon as you are comfortable with the gameplay and controls, teleport to the mainland. There are similar level mobs around the capital (where you are sent to) and more people to help.

Never be afraid to ask question here or in region chat. Someone will always answer. Some one will always help.

Yeah, don't let the starter island turn you off. If nothing else, you can look for character names in the forum and send them /tells to ask questions in game. Or ask questions here; plenty of nice folks willing to help out a new homin

I recommend that you spend Craft skill points on Craft skills only. As a crafter you will find life much easier, I believe, if you can dig most of your own craft materials - hunting for materials can take much longer than digging them, or please someone tell me I am wrong - so you might want to spend 50 of your magic skill points on the harvester starter pack fairly early in your career. Melee skill does not require a starter pack, since every homin can punch, kick, bite and pull hair.

I think the harvest start pack may only be 20 skill points- so the packs chosen work pretty well. But I agree you'll want to start harvest using magic points.

Typical advice for new players is to choose one each magic, harvest, and craft.
