2 things:

1) Raynes, youre the one who started ranting and telling people that they judge others too much. If you would actually read, and think about, what you type then maybe you wouldnt be such a rambling neanderthol *sigh*

2) Anyways, I didnt have the pleasure of attending the event, but I heard from a few others that the turn out wasnt that bad. I hope to join in the next event that you may, or may not, hold. The Elders of Atys support your open, and open minded, ways 100%.

We are bretheren, no matter the path we take, cant we all just accept that some think different than others? *sigh*

Jeska, do please contact or have an officer from your guild contact me or Gorran about the event.

Because of its success we are already planning on having another one. The more who can participate the better!

If travel ever opens up sufficiently for our dedicated crafters I'd even like to try and do this across multiple civilizations.

notice the little smiley face at the end there? stop taking his jokes so seriously. jeez, nit-picking every word.

raynes, do you see something in this that the rest of us don't? where in this is he attacking you? if anything it seems to me he's wishing you good luck...

raynes wrote:Funny how the truth gets twisted. I was a member of CP for a very short time. While I was a member CP announced an alliance with a Tryker based guild. Upon hearing this I asked the following question: "Why do we have an alliance with a group that the Zorai have a negative faction with?". The answer was "That's a good question". Upon further discussion of why the Zorai have a negative faction with the Trykers, the answer given by the leader of CP was "I don't know". So CP was making choices about their alliances and their future without any idea of the past or reason behind things.

The question asked originally was why we had negative fame with the Tryker. The answer would be game mechanics. Balance. This minor fame disadvantage (-8) is something that can be surpassed by an individual in less than one day. Why someone feels obligated to limit themselves and flame others base on a history that is spotty and inconsistant at best baffles me.

Why would we possibly forsake an alliance with a respectable and forthright group of individuals so similar to ourselves based on the prejudices that were passed on? The Praetorian / Trkyer Black alliance is easily one of the strongest and most supportive in the game. This experience has left us open to other alliances with other factions in all races.

I can only hope that you eventually tire of flaming other players in the game and find something suitable for you.

No, that wasn't the answer that was given. You, yourself said "I don't know". My issue was that you were making decesions about alliances totally absent of any reguard for the story or the background of the game. It's not a mattter of limiting things it's a matter of making decesions based up facts. One of which was when we had the hero visit and we were flat out told to be wary of the Trykers playful ways.

Anyway this has gone on long enough. Enjoy your alliances and associating with other races. Eventually when you learn the truth about the ones you are associating with, you will be sorry.

Just to chime in on this point, I've noticed all the people ignoring existing civilization differences taking the "why not let old hates die" approach when trying to justifying that decision when any RP issues are brought up. Which is fine. More power to you. It certainly works right now. However, given that the storyline of SOR is such an integral part of the immersion factor, imo, I have to wonder if you are not excluding yourself from much of the future content by adopting this point.

Plus, you mention the -8 Tryker faction not being a big deal. I assume this means that all of CP is going to be working towards positive Tryker Fame while all of Tryker Black is going to be working towards positive Zoria faction, otherwise the argument seems to be a moot point at best.

Actually, wouldn't increasing your Tyker fame decrease your Zoria fame, and vice versa?

Actually we had wondered about that at first ... Increasing Tryker fame does not affect Zorai fame at all. While Zorai start out with a lower Tryker fame, there is no cross-effect to raising it later in game.

Ok, with that in mind, what do I have to do to lower my Tryker fame then...or any other civilization for that matter?
