my confusion ends

Post by talktalk »

I recently read:
marct wrote:Then have this: It's all frickin in character, there is no arguing. DT the character is sick of it, and many other characters are sick of it.

So, IN CHARACTER, if you come in to Yrkanis with a flag bearing your Kami faction allegiance expect to be DEAD. You will then have it explained to you how not to be dead in Yrkanis.

Our hard working crafters and resting fighters and foragers require these measures to be fully effective at their duties to their faction, their civilization, their guild, their family, and unto themselves.

DONE.
lol. nicely said. Its FvF and I trust you will be expecting to have the same courtesy extended to you and your kin when flagged and visiting our sacred Kami homelands.

To expand. I have not spoken on this issue much but out of a sense of pure confusion when IG I feel I should make my position clear.

To me (or Mephisto, if u prefer), FvF, PvP in essence is simple. However once handed to us homins and our various different views/flavors are applied the confusion becomes all too apparent.

Im always flagged, very rarely go to Yrk but would expect to be attacked at some point when wondering around the "enemy's" territory. I also expect, naievely it seems, that opposing flagged players would have the same expectations. But no, not all, some come flagged for the "boast factor", "Oo Im in Kami land flagged", and carry with them a bag full of insults, "You're a ganker" "I only fight at this place nd that place and that's only when the moon is purple and there is a "Z" in the day of the week name"!! pfft

Mephisto (me), has tried to follow the ever changing "honour" system that homins apply to fighting on daily basis. I turn up to fights or "situations" with really no clue what is gonna happen and tbh I'm tired of it, tired of the indecision. I'm not a hardcore PvP'er, Im pretty crap atm, but I do enjoy it, a welcome break from endless digging sessions.

So, in an effort to alleviate my own confusion mostly, I will state for all to read the following:

Im am a Kamist, I follow the Kami path and belief system. I will raise my flag to show the world that I walk the Kami path and I am willing to defend these beliefs in combat and will answer the call of my Guild, my Faction, my Gods. I will assist all Kami followers be they player or NPC. The enemy of my friend is MY enemy. The Karavan are my enemy and as such I will attack flagged Karavan supporters where ever I see them, with 1 exception, /afk players (there must be an AFK by your name)!! Diggers, crafters and the like will all apply. If you don't want this to happen, remove your flag or kill me first.

I will not enter into flaming, name calling or political discussions, I have made my (Mephisto's) position clear here. At least it can be said, you know where you stand with me and I know where I stand with you.

Amen to that!!!

No name calling here either, and while were at it, a reasonably fair fight seems in order.

An excellent point of veiw / code of practice for a Zealot and one that I may follow myself oneday , for now though I have wider concerns -

Im am a Kamist, I follow the Kami path and belief system as I interpret it , theres a natural order and balance must be maintained. I will raise my flag to show the world that I walk the Kami path in FvF conflicts (Events) and I am willing to defend these beliefs in combat and will answer the call of my Guild, my Faction, my Gods. I will assist all Kami followers be they player or NPC my friends from before the War if possible and aim to keep the balance by making each Race strong in its Homeland. The enemy of my friend is MY enemy. The Karavan are my enemy and as such I will attack flagged Karavan supporters in FvF Events (except under truce) where ever I see them, with 1 exception, /afk players (there must be an AFK by your name)!! Diggers, crafters and the like will all apply. If you don't want this to happen, remove your flag or kill me first. on a "peacefull" day Karavaneers will be tolerated / converted if possible

I will not enter into flaming, name calling or but hope to be involved in IC RP political discussions on the forums, I have made my (Mephisto's) position clear here. At least it can be said, you know where you stand with me and I know where I stand with you (Petej's) case here but you probably wont always know my path as its complicated by previous friendships (mostly Zorai and Tryker), Guild issues (GL of a Matis based (Neutral Race) Kami Guild with a majority of Matis members) and the need for Kami "Balance" to be maintained

I dont mean to imply theres anything wrong with Meph's chosen path , like I said above Petej (the Zorai) and my Alts may follow a similar one eventualy , for now my world contains more shades of grey than black and white , for me the road to enlightenment (Kami or Karavan) is a twisting one

And let me (or Alurach, to be precise) join in on this philosophy.

I am neutral. I stand for Hominkind. I will sacrifice all for the defence of all Hominkind. If the enemy be Kitin, Dragon, Kami or Karavan, I will sacrifice everything for the defence of Hominkind. Today it seems the Kitin are our bane, but there are many powers at work, and for a simple Homin to make a judgement call is risky at best.

((Unfortnately, current game mechanics are fairly restrictive to us who walk the neutral path, so out job doesn't entail much, however, we prepare for the day when the true enemy of Hominkind is revealed and on that day we can take the final stand))
