more seriously, something to drag easily the action bar. it's very hard to click on the lonely tiny pixel around the corner who allow window displacement. I heard about UI reworking, so please dont forget it !

Well, I'm in my first two hours of the Trial.
I already have some observations that have led to frustration. It's just not good to frustrate potential customers in only two hours.
Trainers don't train. Specifically, how does one craft? No clue and no npc, including the crafting trainer, is saying. What do I need to craft stuff? Recipes and ingredients I assume, but where do I get the stuff? What can I craft? Duh on me perhaps, but I've not figured out how to get past the duh stage yet. I shouldn't have this problem as a new player trying out the game.
UI is completely unintuitive. One small example: got a mission to go to Stalli. Cool. Where the devil is Stalli? It's not shown on the map. Found the Landmarks function later after running around and dying. Well, cool, but it would have been helpful to have had a tutorial that covered the main UI functions quickly. As bad as Eve's tutorial was 8 months ago when I joined, I didn't have this kind of problem.
What is the repetitive message "Please wait" that comes up everytime I update a mission, or several times when I pick up something off a corpse? I wait and I wait. 2 minutes isn't waiting, it's the server/database stuck. I work around this by logging out and in. Not fun. Just not fun.
And a 5 minute wait after death to respawn? And then have to sit and wait more to regenerate my health, sap, etc. That's just enforced downtime which doesn't help me learn anything, accomplish anything, have fun, try new stuff, etc. After 2 deaths, I just logged off and came here to post. Not a good approach to death from a new player's perspective, who wants to try this game and really, can't. Again, not fun.
And then, logging in, again, again, I see this smart jab at players: "You'd load faster if you had more ram and a better processor." OK, I see that is an attempt to be humorous. BUT, I'm already pissed and frustrated by the above situations. And, oh btw, I have a 64bit processor and 2GB ram and a 6800 graphics card. And the game still takes a while to load. I didn't need the snide/demeaning comment.
I'll try again tomorrow, but I'm not optimistic. And since I'm not optimistic, this may be my only attempt to give you useful feedback from a new-to-the-game, trial player's perspective.

hello
sorry to hear about your woe's. it's generally agreed the starter islands and tutorial are not ideal but to address a few of your points.
i believe there is a crafting tutorial which links off the welcomer, if not have a look at the online help it is explained there.
the UI i absolutely love it, its extremely flexible and can be configured to a great extent, guess that is down to personal preference although its about to get redesigned as per recent article on the main site.
the 'please wait' messages are not universal some issue with your connection maybe?
when you die the map that pops up is to choose a respawn location - if none are around to res u just click respawn, no need to wait.
my only suggestion would be to persevere a bit, once you get your head round some of the quirks things should make a lot more sense

it's problem in your end. most probably network is causing this.jeffpm wrote:What is the repetitive message "Please wait" that comes up everytime I update a mission, or several times when I pick up something off a corpse? i have no problem with "Please wait" window.
you can choose your respawn point (or use tp ticket while dead), and hit respawn button to insta respawn (if you dont get rez by asking in region)And a 5 minute wait after death to respawn? And then have to sit and wait more to regenerate my health, sap, etc.
i have played with amd64 4800+, 2g, gf6150 onboard video, and i can tell you that i'ts FAST compared to my amd 2000+, 1G, gf3.And, oh btw, I have a 64bit processor and 2GB ram and a 6800 graphics card. And the game still takes a while to load. I didn't need the snide/demeaning comment.
Ryzom is kinda slow on logging and loading new zones, but with that comuter you have, it's probably your network again that slows you down (or you windows needs cleaning or full reinstall).

Make the forage source window always on top. It's really annoying when a mob wanders up and obscures this while you're trying to dig.
