Greetings all Homins!

Post by cenneck »

Greetings all Homins!

I’ve been playing Ryzom for about 3 weeks now and I thought I’d better get round to saying hello on the newcomer welcome board.

I’m enjoying Ryzom so far but I have a question. I’m Tryker so I’ve started the game in the lakes. Its great but it would be good to see what other views the game can offer.

How do you move to new areas of the world?
There doesn’t seem to be any obvious route to the other areas on the in game map.

See you in game!

Welcome to Atys :)

Although it is possible for a homin to go to other lands, it's not an easy task and requires some proficiency and knowledge of aggro creatures, ranges and safe paths. Best solution seems to be to wait for (or to propose and ask) for a regular trek where more experienced players gather a group and help new refugees to get to other lands.

That said, from Tryker con can either go to the lovely Matisian forests through lagoons of loria. You need to head northwest from Fairhawen and near Avendale, you'll find a vortex that will take you to lagoons. Crossing that extremely dangerous zone (at your levels if an aggro mob sees you you are dead) you can get to Matis in a vortex at the north wall. The other path will take you to Zora crossing first Bounty Beaches and the Prime Roots, Trench of Trials. I'm sure any of your fellow trykers will be pleased to show you where those vortex are in the map.

Join a trek, it will be far easier, but the challenge of solo trekking at low levels is one a few players have enjoyed a lot. But patience, it is possible to die dozens of times before making it.

Have a pleasant stay in Atys :)

Bear in mind to be able to go back to some of the places you may visit on a trek you will need to work on your fame to pick up the teleport tickets. This is explained quite a bit if you browse the boards a bit.

The deities expect some loyalty for the higher level lands and Prime Roots tickets, working your fame will gain you favor and the ability to get teleport tickets in all regions.

You can buy a decent, liveable selection of teleport tickets already, as a Neutral.

Anyway, welcome. :)
