i voted no ;-) because all "invasions" have been just a big boss hunt without any real impact to game.
just a few hours of "fun", then boring.

Voted yes, but agree with this. Let's have invasions that actually last for a while and affect more than just a single pre-existing mob nest.

Well, it seems it's been expanded on before, but something along the lines of a true invasion. In the last event, the kitin didn't invade anything. They sat in their nests and we went to them.

If you didn't participate, it had zero impact on life in Atys. If you did, it only affected you for an hour and then it was gone as if nothing happened.

Just as a starting point, how about something where the kitin begin a march on one of our capitals or cities ?

If we fight well, their advance is slowed or pushed back (as they respawn they'd respawn back a bit from previous position). If we don't, they move forward (when we respawn, they can continue their march). Make it possible that they could fully take a city if we aren't successful.

Set the kitin progress rate so that it lasts for a while.

At the same time, give us something for our diggers/crafters to accomplish that will unlock a new weapon we can use to defeat the invasion. The digging can occur in roots, but the crafting must occur in the city that is being threatened.

If the city is taken, work on the weapon stops and we must clear the city before it can proceed.

If the weapon is completed, NPC's use it to send the kitin packing and we are victorious. (to avoid us leaving this weapon in player hands, it could self destruct as part of it's usage and require a high level NPC to construct in the future)


(I'm sure others have better ideas, but that's just off the top of my head without enough coffee in my system)

eh aye! something has to change at least some time! its a living world yes????? so why has nothing changed in well a long long time...

talking to some most new homins when they pop the word of the big kick off that happened last year really got them hopeful/excited/woohoo about ryzomerito....

but another point....what do we (homins) have to defend??????????????

also surely the kitin menace/ other stuff should be changing daily not on a one off whim? eeek RAID engine malfunction???

the only time something changed was with the new portal opening (excluding all new non kitin related type things that may or may not be called content)

butbubut..

MR souls is being quite influential on this thar forum interesting ;)

All those ideas are great and your views shared by quite a few players. Even some of them were tested in fbt, with real invasions attacking cities, and NPC disappearing (e.g. Natae)

Nevertheless, the last long-lasting event was a year ago, and although some invasions have happened, they seemed bugged -- aggro kitin not attacking -- and random crashes. Nevrax has acknowledged that. Also it is very possible that given Nevrax financial status they took he decision to focus on specific aspects of the game.

Nevertheless, let me point out the recent communication about focusing development on Kitin, now that OP are live, we can expect some improvement.

Personally I'd like to see something almost exactly like EP2, where honour points could be gained for killing kitin (assuming you're killing kitin of the right level). Crafters and harvesters could be included by having NPC guards which get boosted the more/better weapons are crafted for them, and will fight the kitin alongside the homins. They wouldn't need to use the exact weapons/armour that was crafted for them, but the more gear crafted the stronger the guards get, thus making it easier for the fighters.

Would give something for those homin who have no or little interest in pvp something to do.. the perfect scenario would be to have it run during the next pvp event so that there wouldn't be any cross-faction fighting during the invasion, and the PvE junkies could get on with fighting the kitin and even (o.O) getting rewarded for it (radical idea I know ;) ).
