Momentum

Post by swe999 »

Momentum is a Tryker movement:

designed in the spirit of the Corsairs
organized for the advancement of homin social and political structure through discourse and education
organized for the advancement of homin technology through research

Momentum is opposed to:

oppressive tendencies of the Matis
aggression of the Fyros
blind faith of the Zoraï
jokes about height

Founded in 2487, Momentum seeks to break all homin from the corruption of the mind that plaques Atys. The meanings of life and the purposes for living are apparent to a lucid and logical mind.

Foundation:

Their tenets are founded on the precept of "Why?"

Such a simple question is deceptively childish.
In any encounter, this question reveals the necessity of the problem.
This allows an objective balancing of risks and rewards.

For example, many homin ask why Jena? or why Ma-Duk?
Disclaimer: Being of Corsair founding are beliefs are apparent.

Jena: Benefit of technology that can't be built on Atys anyway because we don't have "metal".

Ma-Duk: Benefit of magical knowledge, assuming there is more that has not been taught to us.

Other: If there was some other "god" it would not matter to us as it has no influence in our daily lives regardless of what anyone might believe. There is no sensible reason to claim belief or nonbelief.

Though we claim Ma-Duk as our Lord we realize that in the event of the Death of Atys as Jena has predicted, we will be forced to leave. When all logical options are exhausted, we believe Ma-Duk, as something not quite a supreme being, will still cling to a dying world.

Focus:

From region to region we guide our fellow homin to a better understanding of the world around them. We do not seek to impress upon them our own views, but rather, to discern whether their personal beliefs derive of logic, or of the casual brain-washing that parents, teachers, churches, and schools are so fond of.

If you find yourself in an uninvited conversation breaching on the philosophical, perhaps you have been caught up in the Momentum. There is but one exit, to declare that you desire to remain a docile messab, sublime in such total stagnation.

The dislike for certain racial qualities we outlined because they are a product of upbringing, and need to be removed so they are not a barrier to new ideas and productive thought.

Among these goals we sponsor a variety of hospitals and research facilities in the capitals of each civilization. Special thanks to Kazue Daisha for the sponsorship of her family in the great city of Zora.

Now, now... no one should ever place blind faith in another. Even if we are talking about the wisdom of the Zorai people, the Tryker still need to learn from their own mistakes and better themselves from those mistakes.

No need to go trudging about Atys, I'll chat with you right here in the Lakelands. I used to chase after that will o' the wisp, Elias Tryton. He promised a revolution to put homins first. Now I've seen what he can deliver. Tryton is a fraud, a charlatan, a bag o' wind and nothing else. His own 'Guild of Elias' doesn't know whether he is alive or dead. The Guild of Elias started a war claiming Jena was coming. We had the war ... but where is Jena?

Now I follow a truly inspired leader, Pero the Great. Pero will save Atys. He sat for seven days and seven nights under the Great Stinga Tree in Loria and attained enlightenment. He has had a great revelation. Pero will lead dedicated homins on the path to Perofection. Join his guild, Aedan Artisans, and you too can learn from the Master.

You sure that Pero did'n't just get really hungry and delusional? I know he is a nice guy, but I am not sure about enlightenment. Regardless, I don't allow people to say they are enlightened unless it is due to a complicated logical revelation that they could in some form share with those around them.

Maika, you need to read something about the difference between evolved and engineered systems. If you simply learn from your mistakes and progress then you'll only be evolved. If you look at what works and what doesn't work, and then rework your entire system of beliefs, then you are engineered, and that much closer to perfection.

I believe that the Great Sage Mabreka understands this, however he has his own agenda... but part of this system is the realization that not everyone is capable of understanding the full complexity of life.

The last I checked, Pero's schedule had a long list of private lessons with young hominettes. However, I feel confident that someday the Master will impart his enlightenment to the masses.
