class system

Post by omnipod »

ello monkeys!
Im currently downloading the game and looking forward to check it out.

As I sit here and wait for download I might aswell ask you some questions if you dont mind.

The class system, Iv heard that you can advance in any tree you want, so can you advance in all trees?
That sounds a bit wierd to me to be a caster/fighter/mage/whatever, or isnt that possible?
If so then all toons out there will sooner or later be excactly(dunno how to spell) the same, more or less I guess.
That doesnt sound fun In my eyes.

Ah well! Im prob wrong.
Im gonna make a toon tonight and see what wonderfull things this game has to offer =]
Im sure I will have lots of fun and I hope I will see some off you in game.

Given enough time, effort and interest then yes everyone can become level 250 in everything. I dont know how many have actually done that so far. In part some of the developments planned are to make things more interesting so that things other than just what level you are in such and such define what your character is and can do. There are things called rites that you can do, not very many of those so far. At the moment everyone can again with effort get them all, this may not be true in the future.

There are way more skill trees to advance in than any one person could ever possibly hope to master.

Therefore, you have to decide what skills will be your primaries, and that is what differentiates the homins of Atys.

Enjoy your stay here!

Send a /tell to Sehraci is you have any questions when you get in game. :)

in year(s) non-stop playing, yep. everyone can be 250 in every skill.
it's more or less 18mil XP per combat skill tree (from 0 to 250 that is, lvl 0 to lvl 100 should be less than 3mil btw ;-) and half for crafting.

happy leveling.

Excellent quote.

It is fun though omni, as if you have spent a week being a melee tank, it's nice to go off into the wilds for a while and dig some raw materials to craft yourself a brand new pair of magic amplifiers..then spending a few days helping a team overcome one or several of atys's bosses where your healing or aggressive casting will be very useful...

So much to do.

That train has sailed!! (finished post as it started)

The skill tree here gives a good view.

Take a fighter for example. I'm certain that a Master Knifeman is pretty different from a Master Pikeman. I am pretty clueless how to make an efficient build but where one is dependant on strength the other one depends on skills. Or something.

I believe once you learn your ways about Atys, you will find that less than half of your time is actually directly engaged in (full tilt) getting a level. Meaning you are wandering about, getting from place to place, interacting with others, using a skill casually (but not grinding), treking, etc. And this is the joy in Atys.

As stated earlier, this would need to be your fulltime job, and you would still probably take 2-3 years to max everything out. I know of 1 person whom has every Magic tree to 250, and this is in 14 months of playing. This still leaves all of the harvesting, all of the crafting, and all of the Melee and Range fighting.

You are also assuming no new skills will be coming into the game. in the time you are playing.

To give you an idea, I think I have played rather heartily and here are my highest lvls. I am 218 Forest foraging (currently it takes over 2 hours of grind to gain a level in forage for me) after that I have a craft at 184, and 3 magic skills at 155, 150 and 124 respectively. Below that I have a handful of skills between 50 and 100 and still have a few that are 20 or so.

I think you will dabble in many but in the end you will find where you are happy and believe me, you will be nothing like anyone else.

Noin. (P.S. I am 250 in one skill, and that is getting DP)

as a general rule of thumb id say magic skills (esp elemental and healing) are the fastest skills to level.

Harvesting can be a right pain to level, it seems to be extremely slow in the beginning when you are under level 100 (probably when you compare it to levelling other skills). For me it got faster from level 100 through to level 200, now its slowing right down again.

I have no idea what ranged is like but i have a feeling its probably as slow as melee to level up (providing you are in a good team of peeps)

slightly off track here but points that are worth considering :)

Im playing the game now :) , Im harvesting atm and I find it fun.
Im only on the noob isle yet but I think Im gonna stay there until I get alitle higher.

Only thing I can say bad about the game sofar is the animation when Im fighting but thats not a biggy and Im harvesting so who cares.

And yes looks like it would take some time to master all trees lol, I was just so boored when I sat there downloading the game and couldnt come up with a better question.

Anyways tnx for the answers but I must go back to my harvesting now.

take care my monkeys
