time for a bit of Philosphy on the environment

Post by marct »

1. Why don't the herbivores ever eat the flora?

2. Why don't carnivores attack other carnivores or munch some flora?

3. Why don't Kitin attack carnivores or Flora?

Just wondering, (speculation / lore / random a$$ guesses / conjecture all welcome)

1. They eat sand?
2. They team up? Peace and stuff?
3. Peace. Killing homins in a team is better.

Kipee are kitin herbivores... They *do* munch grass (tho the lore says they're eating bark). Run up the road to the kips near Bodokin and watch.

Arma also have a "chewing" animation IIRC.

1. Herbies like safety. The intelligent flora fights back.

2a. Carnivores like safety; herrbies don't fight back as much as other carnivores.

2b. Carnivores eat meat; the flora isn't meat.

3. No clue. We Tryker may tolerate 2 different temples on our lands, but trying to understand the way a giant bug thinks? No thanks. Avoid it or kill it. That's all I know.

Why don't the primitives (cutes/gibbai/frahars) get attacked by carnivores?

I'm sure they taste the same as us.....

why do herbs run from carnivores but gang up on hostile homins?

Why does a carnivore attack a new uber herb that it has no chance of defeating?

You will often see Primitives in proximity with carnivores, some kind of 'hunting dog' symbiosis, but I am disappointed the kitin guards are neutral to aggro carnivores - even when they ( the kitins) are quite willing to attack herbivores, and that all aggro exist in happy alliance.

They can't read the number and color of stars like we can. They just know that Manda smells the same as any other arma. And then they're too stupid to run away once battle is engaged.

This is one of those things I've noticed about all of the animals. Shouldn't they sometimes realize they are way over matched and run away? Like when an AoD walks to the Green Seed camp from Yrk, shouldn't the first dog that gets nuked with just a glance be a hint to the others that they might want to hide deeper in the woods or come with some backup?

I think it's related to smells. My dog will eat his dog food if he must, but if I offer him a banana, the dog food gets ignored. (and if I try to eat a banana without sharing, I'd better be in the city, cause he'll know!)

I suspect we smell like bananas to the carnivores, the herbies smell like dog food and the primitives have found a way to smell like other carnivores.

Why ask why, when you already know the answer?

Better-off to send in a suggestion.
