I said may. I hope not. I'm not going to speak for Meena and probably shouldn't have said anything at all, just getting a bit morose :(

People can have positive or negative attitude for any reason and any time. Problem isn't the attitude, but who You play with. If the community becomes so small for certain playing styles, there isn't anyone to play with. It's like, someone goes digging, because mo-one is online, there isn't options.

So You are asking to play certain playing style with You. Sure, but what about all others, do they wanna play with You too? Or are they asking to You to play with certain playing style with them? It's all about split by playing styles.

I do agree. No point of having negative attitude. Just make so that You have fun, what ever it is.

Every time somthing is added or changed its like throwing a rock in a lake, it makes waves. Some people panic flounder and are sunk by these waves others ride them and slowly the waves turn to ripples and and those that stay watch the rock sink to the bottom and become part of the whole.

I beleive FvF has a place and is integral to the storyline, no things may never be quite the same again and I was as shocked as alot of people initially fearing a complete gankfest and total loss of everything we had but we can see this through and it will add more dimensions to Atys. Signs are showing that the spirit of our community is not gone and the ripples are getting smaller.

For those who will fight such as myself try to fight with honour not just for the points we will get our Bandits who kill just to kill but they need not be the majority hopefully those who fight/those who rp/those who do both can show them Atys can be so much more than a beat em up and our multi facetted community can go forward together too new adventures.

Don't.

Please.

First and foremost that's admitting defeat, its capitulation and it weakens the resolve and 'voting power' of the Cooperative/PvE playerbase, which can only increase the problems in the future by causing a community shift.

You force me to pull out the big guns.

Grimjim has a point here, you know. i admit that i´m not a avid anti-PvPer like outhers are... but nether do i like it. (in its momentary form anyway)

but Homins think about it... if you leave because you fear that the L33t kiddies will now take over, they will only have the chance to do that if there is noone that opose them... and that means YOU yes YOU the avid anti PvPer and RPer and all likeminded folks, we the Homins of Atys are the only ones that can police ourselfs or can give a good example to outhers.

so please if you don´t like PvP or better yet hate L33t kiddies and gankers(like i do) then stay and help in making Atys the best, the greatest community around.

to often i have seen the best leave out of fear that the community will go down...
only that it did go down cause they left, making it a selffullfiling prophesy...

so please stay, lend a hand in this and be one of the unsung heros that helped to stave off the evil PvP prophesy ;)

so you leave me now outher way...

I think the reason people leave is simpler than most of you are making it out to be.

I think people quit playing the game because PvP destroys the fun in the game. The fun of looking forward to participating in new content, and enjoying old content the way they used to.

If we want people to stay, we have to make the game not only fun for ourselves but fun for them as well.

I've seen times when heavy-handed censorship was employed in the AO forums to stop anything bad from being said. This was a draconian measure to stop people from leaving the game due to bad development. The problem however wasn't what people were saying, that only allowed them to vent. The problem was what people were playing, and they left even faster when they couldn't vent their frustrations.

People say if you're not into PvP you can still go to Void and do your old thing. However you can't, because the old thing used to involve other people who aren't hardly there any more.

To get more people and keep them Nevrax need only figure out: "Why was Ryzom so many more times successful at launch that it is today?" What do the people who are leaving want?

The FvF here is nothing more than an inconvenience compared to other games. There is no real risk of losing anything. All you lose is a little bit of honour if someone can't rez you. In other games with FvF you can lose your prized possessions if the victor decides to loot your corpse.

Take it in the spirit it is intended. A change of pace and some spice to the daily grind of forage and craft. And have some fun. No one has been forced to take part in the Episode 2 evenets. In fact lots of homins are taking advantage of the opportunity not to have to worry about Kami smiting in some areas.

It is always about consent. Always.

While with the area PvP we will be able to unflag we will still be subject to its effects whether we like it or not.

With outposts we can choose not to take part, but then we will miss out on something waited for for a long time.

With Ep2 we have a 'content' heavy event (in most terms of content) entirely focussed on PvP and to get access to any of that you have to expose yourself to PvP in some way.

So, basically, that amounts to no real choice.

Please STOP saying nobody is forced to take part, they are, several ways. Some people are making the sacrifice to not take part, but that sacrifice may turn out to be significant and a big disadvantage to them.

What I'd like to do is see what we can come up with in terms of some fun RP events and some possibilities for R2.
