I've heard both bad and good from folks regarding the changes. By the way, you're mistaken. Heal Nerf + Increased Nuke Damage = Shorter Fight (any way you look at it, even with increased resists/protection)
The only type of fight that will take longer would be a Pike vs. Pike as they now do less damage.
The changes implemented also had another effect on PVM type activity. They made fighting mobs interesting again, whereas a lot of us were getting bored with the grind because it was the same boring, easy stuff.

I missed this one when I first read it, I missed it when I read it for a second time but when I saw the quote in philu's post it kicked me in the pants...
Yes Nevrax is adding a lot of PvP "content" and maybe, just maybe, it will make no difference to someone not interested in PvP but that is part of the problem. They're adding something only a small part of the population wants but nothing, or very little, for the rest of us.....
We non pvpers not want things to stay the same, we want some new stuff, new stuff we can take advantage of without having to deal wth the unpleasantries of PvP kiddies

Well realy thats down to you and the mobs you choose to fight , on that subject I realy feel Nevrax missed an oportunity , they shouldnt have bothered with the "Super-Herbies" (which have ruined mainy of the good sneaking places for harvest) but should have increased the exp on PR mobs (which already have health in abundance) and made them worth while to hunt -fewer kills but more exp/challenge , not sure a pro-hunter would agree with that tho

Some maths here: if they lose 50% customers but win 50% leet kids, from any side you look, there will be 50% more sales of the game. Also leet kids / gankers will drive in another leet kids. They will throw the game away after a month or two... but who cares? They have bought the game and they payed 3 months subscription. Basically are more money in than money out.
You, as a veteran player, are less valuable for Nevrax than a brand new one. Because you know the game, you know the bugs, you learned your rights, you know how the game should be. A brand new player who buys the box AND pay the fee, knows nothing about the game. Can cause less problems with demands, bug reporting, and so on. If he finds a bug he believes that's the normal state of things.
Bottom line: you (vet player) are paying your sub and bother the staff with suggestions and bug reports. He (newbie player) is paying the sub + buys the game. He only ask questions about the skill brick system / gameplay, and those have a standard answer "we are not allowed to give you advices about gameplay" (TM).
