Ability to recieve credit for missions even if grouped.
I dont know about the Zora Kovan Sniper, since I play a Tryker, but I would like to point out that sniper weapons are *supposed* to be long ranged.

However a better collision detection system would be appreciated, and should take care of the shooting through mountains problem.

Just wanted to say that so far I'm having a great time with this game, but there are always things that can be improved on. Many of those have been listed here. One thing I would like to know about deals with the chat system.

Note: I apologise if for some reason these have already been mentioned or are already in the game ;)

At the moment I find the system a bit clumsy. It might be that I'm just used to the other games out there, but here are some ideas I'd really like to see implemented:

Channel Shortcuts

When I am in mid battle and I need to reply to my team or guild it is very important that I can do so without being killed - And without windows cluttering my entire screen. Speed is the key here.

Shortcuts such as /user <msg> /team <msg> /guild <msg> ect...speed up the chat process greatly and make it much more user friendly.

Not having to stop what I'm doing, move my mouse over to the channel button and manually change them, or open them in a new window would be great!

Player Tells

I also believe that there should be an option to stop player tells from opening in a new window.

It is good to offer the ability to open things in a new window, but at the same time allow us to have them all in one window if we so choose. You spent so much time creating this beautiful world, and I would love to see more then windows covering my screen.

1. a /loc command or a location display on the over head map.

2. background music

3. Contract jobs for jewelry on the noobie island.

4. When crafting the same thing a bunch of times 1 or 2 of the resources will vanish after a combine, and you have to readd them. It drives me nuts, please tell me its not by design. (pretty please?)

5. The ability to jump. :P

6. I test quartering with daggers and pike's. You get the same amount, same quality also. Maybe up the quality/quantity for using smaller weapons ? (beleive this is just a bug)

7. The ability to turn off the /tell pop up box. I couldn't find it if it is there.

8. more enchantments for jewelry, I am still a noobie, but those patterns cost ALOT. (100each) and you have to buy the bonouses to stats to make them worth while (50 each). For 100 skill points it should have some quality to it. I mean you can craft armor/weapons with the + to stats just like jewelry, and those patterns are useful and only cost 30.

I would REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like the ability to Alt+Tab in/out of the game without having to leave up Explorer or some other program (currently this is the only way to achieve a successful Alt+Tab that will get you out of and back into the game).

Haven't seen this (Maybe it's here already) but:

Fix the collision detection with charging mobs. I get it mostly on Gingos and Ragus, but it's not right that they can run THROUGH me and then attack me from behind while I have to turn around. Meanwhile I can't get through that herd of Mekoub to get to my prospected resource. :)

I'm surprise nobody has mentioned this yet
* you can re-organize your inventory, but when you are selling stuff to NPC or exchanging with another player, you can't re-organize the inventory; I endup taking time hunt-n-peck the items I want

Some other Stuff I would like to see
* when selling items to npc - would be nice to be able to sell multiple items at a time, instead of one-by-one. In another thread, there was mentioned multiple bags to help re-organize one's bag; maybe have a dedicated sell bag, eh?

* more weapons for the magicians - sure, mages have spells, and can enchant weapons, but the variety of weapons available to a warrior is vast compared to mage's one magic amp; how about Power Orbs that enhance just offensive or defensive spells, or another bonus brick to optionally add spells to weapon builds - eg a sword that does reg melee damage + acid 2 damage upon a hit.

* special spells, armor and armor plans, weapon and weapon plans, that are not offered by the trainers - could be mission driven. This may have already been planned as part of racial traits in Patches 1 & 2? I suggest this to help create diversity for higher lvl players (maybe lower lvl players as well )

* if lootable weapons/armor/other stuff is enabled on npc, how about the ability to be learn to craft or use the items - Earth and Beyond had this feature which I liked; it enable a looted item to be disassembled and learned, and sucess was dependent upon level of user, the item, complexity, and how damaged the item was. (I'd love to be able to learn how to craft the Shadow Cutthoat's electric swords)

BTW, you can find a vague location of your character with /where command - How about a slight augmentation of this command, to give a 16 pt compass direction and distance from last respawn pt - I think radian coordinants would be vague enough ... eg:

/where

screen and system info shows
You are in The Burning Desert
In The Valley of Emperor
Approx 52m NNE of last Respawn Pyr

Oh... PLEASE...PLEASE start advertising this game in NA publications or zines; powerhouses EQ2 and WoW are just around the corner...

#22!! I keep doing that, then pound my head on the desk.

1.) More flags on the map, make an option in Game Config to set # of max flags or some such.

2.) Possible map toggle to switch to an outline map instead of the non-precise map on there currently. This would help being able to keep track of all those resource locations you've uncovered. This coupled with the first will hopefully be alot more effective than taking a screenie and trying to map out the locations that way, considering not being able to zoom in far enough.

3.) A "Stack All" Feature for the inventory for all like objects, since items in a packer cannot be stacked with those in your inventory unless you transfer them all to another play then back again. As bulk, not a big problem, but with packers and 64 icon limits, a large problem. (Example: Eve-Online's stack all feature)

4.) Not sure if this is part of the Encyclopedia feature or not, but a personal journal to store notes, with the copy past function from chat windows. For Full screen users, not easy to switch out to check notes, an ingame function, or even a function that would let you load a notepad document from outside and read it ingame. Hmm, as i think about it more, might be some other possibilities.

Oh yeah....Forgot this one...

I'd like to be able to zoom in ON my character, NOT to the name area above his head. Some folks like to checlk out their new armor/clothes/weapons and such to see if it fits with the character they have made.

Marketing the game

Post by varelse »

What about allowing us to buy "tryout codes" for friends interested in trying the game, and letting them download and play for a limited trial period before deciding to buy the box (or not).

If the friend decides to buy after the trial time is up, the player who purchased the code should get some trivial reward or recognition in game, nothing fancy, maybe a title indicating their prowess as a recruiter.

Also, it should be made easy to buy a subscription for a friend as a gift, along with the box. Say, something like you buy the box through an online retailer and have the option to purchase a subscription code for anything from 30 days to a year, that gets shipped along with the box and your friend enters that code in the process of registering the game.
