Do we know whether Nevrox intended for there to be a level of difficulty in being a 250 multiracial digger and multiracial crafter? Probably not, unless they comment :P

This is the route I'm on. I dig everwhere and I craft everythign all races.

Figure it out its not always easy getting to the mats needed to grind some of the mats away. Or sometimes its really nice to be able to use the storage to uh store for future crafts. Why should I be penalized in an open system for using all of the skills in this open system. Obviously I cant mix my Ex Jungle Fibers/wood, with my Ex Forest Sap, with my Ex Lake Resin, with my Ex Desert Oil to make a piece of armour. What about when I dig choice and dont have the other correct racial mats to grind or haven't had a chance to dig fine, basic. Yes its annoying but I've have been forced to digging basic-fine mats at times simply so that I can reduce the number of mats cluttering around in my limited storage. This obvoiusly annoys me to great ends as it reduces the amount of experience I have over time for my digging.

What about the Mats I cant dig yet? I Admit I'm storing level 250 ambers for their resists property in Desert and Lake in more quanityt than I need for the simple fact that I cant dig them myself (yet...soon soon oh yes I will get that soon......muahahaha). What about keeping a sampling of all possible mats around just so I dont have to run around the world collecting mats to try out different formulas as a crafter? What about keeping some mats cause I know certain people will ask me to dig them :p (hehe couldnt resist cough cough).

The storage issue that's particularly irksome to me is the guild hall bulk limitation. There are bigger and smaller guilds, richer guilds and poorer guilds - but "one size fits all" when it comes to guild hall options. That sucks a dead bear, and it's summertime. Yes, you can have alts with their own guild halls, but that is a large amount of tedious work shuffling crap around, and it's nigh-impossible to keep track of the guild's total assets at any given time. I can see absolutely no justification for there to be a hard limit in the size of guild hall storage - given good money to pay for the warehouse space, guild halls should be upgradeable ad infinitum.

And no, I don't think it should be rented space - that would lead to programming difficulties to figure out how the rent is paid and what happens when the money isn't there for rent but the rented space is full of stuff. You buy everything else outright, why complicate the extra storage by making it rented?

As for merchant storage, yes I know some people find it annoying - but until they give people better options it's going to be used extensively.

Yes, I need more space.

I'm a collector.

Packer 1 is full of frequently used equipment.
Packer 2 is full of currently being worked on grind mats
Packer 3 is at my dig spot, to be used for grinding in the field (you'd think more packers should be in the field rather than at the stables)
Mount is full of food in case I want to take off for a few days. ;)

My apartment is full of clothes and ornamental weapons and accessories. I don't see why I shouldn't be able to acquire outfits of every race, grade, color, and quality if I'm willing to pay for the storage. And yes, I need a HQ version from every civ of all melee and ranged weapons. Also at least four shields and four bucklers for collecting, more for use. As well as a variety of aplication specific amps, I'd also like a variety in appearances, I need MQ and HQ in some civs.

I'm lucky I have GH access for storing special excellent and supreme materials. I only craft medium/heavy armor and shields. I can't imagine if I used more than four mat types.

I particularly like the idea of using apartments in all lands. ( I could put all my Zorai outfits in Zora, Fyros in Pyr, etc.) Also, guild halls in all lands linked by those doors. (obviously not allowing people who thaven't been to the corresponding capital yet to travel through)

I don't understand why a packer can't easily carry twice as much as a homin.

Apartment (and guild hall?) inventories should show as a tab like packers, so you can see what you have available from anywhere. You should be able to craft from apt iventory.

If not allowing more packers in alternate lands, then offer very expensive teleport tickets for one time use to move packers to capital cities.

I find myself agreeing with almost all you said, Sehracii :) I especially like the thought of walking through an apartment door in Yrkanis to enter my apartment in Fairhaven (always wanted one there), though I know you talked about linked guildhalls in different lands.

I'm not so keen on the packer teleport though, simply because I'd rather homins had to form a caravan to move their packers between the lands. I guess Kami and Karavan both have a problem with getting mekkies to accept teleportation pacts. I can't believe this is because mekkies are just too dumb. That's simpy an act they put on to avoid doing stuff like carrying more than half as much as they obviously are able to. And don't give me that "they must be stupid 'cause they will follow me even in to the most ridiculous places" thing. Mekkies dont care about DP - when did you ever see one level and cry "Ding!"? They're smart enough not to respawn into the hands of a careless owner :)

A possible and simple solution

Post by nonde »

Reducing bulk on mats to .25 or even better .10 bulk would seem to require minimal programming, make packers functional when digging, and cater for high level crafters who require an obsene number of mats, ie bulk, for leveling as well as considerable storage space for exc, supreme and boss mats.

To the devs: Have u done an analysis of number of mats required for leveling craft v storage provided? ONE high level in craft approaches 3 packers of mats which seems prima facie unbalanced to me. Similarly with the number of mats available as most crafters will want to collect some of every mat type to experiment with their different properties - what is the bulk required for this at .5 bulk per mat? And does current bulk on mats enable players to enjoy the complex crafting system you have created?

Is there a compelling reason mat bulk must be .5 per mat? If not make it .1 bulk and make lots of crafters happy :) .

That's true... I have a packer full of amp mats just for formulas, with tokens of all types. If I could craft directly (or at least select the mats into the craft window) from the guild or appartment inventory, I could reuse that packer again :)

traveling between lands _solo_ with _mount_ (even w/o) is a joke, you should try that sometimes ;-) . often i dont even get hit (mob too far to hit, not b/c high dodge ;-) .
btw, dont add/remove aggro. aggro is fine, landscape is not ;-(
small and long path with not too much aggro and with some safe spots and wandering aggro nameds.. it would be perfect ;-)

but yea, packers should hold a lot more bulk than they currently do, so that traveling between lands with them is cheaper (food for packers) than tp'ing around naked.

I dont really need more storage but more packers. Only a 4th would be nice to keep things sorted somehow.

App is nice but its painful not being able to look in from everywhere and not to be able to move stuff from packer/mount to the app.

Ah yes, and the old subject: A packer in Tryker is useless when you want to use your launcher in Fyros ;) I need definetely more mobile storage (tickets for packers)

I understand why people say they need more storage space, but a better idea would be to manage the space you have more.. The main annoyance is moving huge amounts of items from one space to another. I don't think I need more space, but I'm sure my attitute will probably change at some point.
