This is either a bug or something, once you get the NPC group called "Turn of the Tide" angry at you, forget range limitations.
As near as I can tell, if you get within 250 M of these guys, they start hitting you with ranged weapons.
But here is the catch, after they spot you and start hitting you, unless you kill all of them, you are in for a world of hurt.
They will stand in there camp, and continue to hit you a full sector away.
(over 1000 M away last tested)
Also, even if you whipe them all out in there camp and go about your merry way, the next time they spawn, somehow, they still have agro, so they start hitting you again.
The only way to clear the agro is to camp out and come back in.
Someone needs to remove there long range capibilities and make them go melee.
NPC Large Agro.. Turn of the Tide
Re: NPC Large Agro.. Turn of the Tide
Snipers can make accurate kills from over 3 miles away.
And they tell their friends.
Intelligent enemies are a pain, eh?

Re: NPC Large Agro.. Turn of the Tide

Re: NPC Large Agro.. Turn of the Tide
So, whose crafting the .50 caliber rifles with the high powered scopes? I want one. How are these mobs factoring in wind variations over long distances? How about interference from trees, hills, and other mobs? Gravity? Etc...mikwana wrote:Snipers can make accurate kills from over 3 miles away.

Oh, they have a huge advantage, they use magic gizmos that do all this for them.jdiegel wrote:So, whose crafting the .50 caliber rifles with the high powered scopes? I want one. Of course, enough have commented on the bug that I'm sure it's being looked at, the answer, for the players, would be, "Don't go fight them, unless you are willing to log out after, until the bug is fixed." If it is a bug.
