So prove your points here all you want, it makes no difference. PvP is here and its here to stay.
This is a pretty common response when the pro-pvp team realizes they can not defend thier stance with reason. In short, we are told to "Deal With It"

And rest assured, we will.

As more and more of the beiligerent gankkids are given opportunities to act out, the adults on the server will evaluate the options and realize that dealing with these clowns is no longer fun.

And why should we bother to play a game that is not fun?
Why should we continue to PAY for a game that is not fun?
There are a lot of games in the world. Many of them can even get gender-specific pronouns straight. Once SoR becomes a game that we do not enjoy laying, how much longer do you think we will stay around?

And once all that is left on the server are griefers yellling "Can en1 REZZ!!one1one!" or "1 Kill JOOO!!", the greatest thing SoR has going for it will be dead.

Consider, before telling us to 'deal with it' that there are many more on the server who do not want PvP than there are PR gankers. Those that are in it for the PvP would really be better served by a game that has acutally balance to it. Those of us who would rather avoid PvP will likely leave if PvP is forced on us.

And how long do you really think the server wil stay up if it is missing most of its players?

My opinion exactly.

Without leaving myself wide open to a nuking, Umbra is great for getting PR levels :p . Harvesting is a solo activity mainly and I wouldn't fancy the patrolled PR without a substantial guard or an unhealthy appreciation of death penalty. Umbra is also the place to be at season change for the small amount of conflict on the server that does currently go on. The rest of the season things are usually quiet - the community is affecting the random killings and rightly so.

I'm for PVP in these outlaw zones. I'm also for people being responsible, knowing that actions have consequences. I don't like PK'ers moaning about people reporting them on the forums, although in some cases it seems both sides are to blame. TBH though, even these PVP threads can be avoided if you look for a few keywords in the title and some of the flame wars are funny :)

Pretty soon we'll have PVP faction tags which will add another dimension. That will be weird - two communities not separated by the region they spend their time in but about how they play.

<on topic:> Thara: I appreciate your clarification, to the extent you're able to define your position in what I surmise is a fluid situation. We're not looking to pursue hostilities if your guild is not pursuing them against us.

<off topic:> There are at least two other active forum threads rehashing ad infinitum the same pro/con arguments regarding PvP - wash, rinse, repeat. I split this thread off on its own, for the express purpose of escaping that ceaseless static. And yet, once again this has become a thread where only a few posts among the gajillion piling up have diddly to do with the actual topic. I find that incredibly rude and annoying.

perhaps you should read my previous post, and then get back to me, Mrshad

My point was not "PvP r0x0rs". Its that PvP is already part of SoR, if we like it or not. and despite the massive outpouring of people saying they don't want it, Nevrax continues to take steps to increase the role it plays. My point is that whatever we argue or decide is pointless. The decision was already made months ago.

so, am I telling you to deal with it? I suppose so, yes. We all will. and I'm not the only one telling you to "deal with it". Nevrax has pretty much done the same thing by forging ahead with PvP when a portion of the players don't want it.

So, in short, get used to it.

Please disect this thread.

I am even putting spaces in between each sentence to make it easier.

It will be appreciated by everybody in the community if you take each line and add your .02 cents.

In order to best preserve the content of this thread, let me say to thank you to Keoni first; you have been absolutely pleasant, in comparison to the other folks that really have no reason to be posting here. That is really saying something, as in the past I rarely if ever agreed with you. ::shakes hand with Keoni::

To continue, Grimjim, you really had no reason to post here. This post was directed to the members of Infinity and OmegaV and presented by Keoni. Perhaps this should have taken place in private messages, but it wasn't. As you love to repeat, just because you can do something has no bearing on whether you should. I do hope you are incredibly proud of yourself. You dare to call ANYBODY selfish?? All you ever do is talk about what you want, without regard for the huge majority of the population made up of players who never even look at this forum. So, to sum up, I congratulate you on once again taking an idea completely off topic and making yet another post almost completely irrelevant. ::hats off to Grimjim, the Obnoxious::

NOTE: I will not be posting in or looking at this thread again, so post all you want. Say what you will, for it means nothing to me or the rest of the world. You all know what they say about opinions...

And you only talk about what YOU want without regard to any other group in or out. Yes, I call that incredibly selfish.

But then you claim not to be reading... so... another posterchild for the pro PvP.

Grimjim, Keoni, et al., we should likely be grateful for the outspokenness of Spiff and others, as to their intented course of action. Imagine the trouble that would have been saved, had Hitler extended the same courtesy.

I was expecting another novel from grimjim. No excessive use of quoting others and preaching? You're losing your edge man.

Baxter, comparing Spiff to Hitler is downright insulting. Shame on you.
