I know what I'm talking about. No animal can hurt a human. Especially a well prepared one.
Uhm...What planet do you live on, here on earth there a tons of places human's can't walk without fear of injury/death from wildlife. I would love to see you trek through the Amazon alone and come out smiling. There isn't and has never been a single human on this earth (your's could be different) that could walk anywhere without fear of injury/death from wildlife.

While its off topic and quite useless i d say: Natives roam the Amazon without problems. Naked, with an arrow and a knife. The little childs do not die all from wild and poisonous animals. And natives are humans :)

The chances to get eaten by an animal are really very low. Humans are not on their foot plan in the most cases, only in very harsh environments and while very harsh seasons. But thats how the rules are. Killing to eat or not get eaten.

Which again shows that a MMO is *not* like RL :D

It should be noted while this is true, it is accomplished by sneaking and stealth more than killing anything that attacks them.

Which fits with Ryzom and PR travel fine, hehe

I you would've activate pm, I wouldn't spammed the forums.
You prolly know so called wildlife only from National Geographic.
The weakest hunting rifle I know is .18 caliber. Well, hunting rifles are not for cowards as long their effective range is less than 50 m. If you fire from 25 meters this baby is blowing up a hole about as big as your head. That's about 3 times bigger than a 7.62 bullet fired from an AKM. Well, tell me what animal can hurt you - assuming you are not a coward that freezes when hears the beast - as long you can place up to 4 loads between it's eyes in this 25 meters range. And IF you are on Amazon and by accident a hipo is getting too nervous... well, there are wepons made for destruction. A LAW can blow an elephant to pieces for example.

@Seren
that annoying son of the ***** have a natural +str +agil +end bonus, and a ****load of hp. I'd rather grind cc on wolves if you dont mind. :) )

for once i reeeeally agree with vutescu

i'm not asking for realism, but if the level cap is still a point where you feel weak then the cap is arbitrary to begin with

im more upset about things like low level mobs being able to hit level 200 people than the nerf

yeah give me a good knife and put me in the jungle, the onyl thing i am scared of is the bacteria and maybe mosquitos, and i only have to kill one animal to fashion a whole suit of leather armor.

Vutescu and micrix are right though neoshay. Even before gunpowder and the invention of the gun, we humans were already walking around the Earth and doing as we pleased even without the use of teleportation and "magic" mind you. While the average person who lives in a city would have a harder time surviving in the wild than your outdoorsman or an Amazonian Tribesman(woman), it does happen, and whilest people do succomb to wild animal attacks, they are rare. One is more statistically likely to die from a lightning strike or slipping on the floor in the bathroom believe it or not.

I would like to point out gentlemen and ladies, Ryzom is not RL nor is it the Earth. Game designers can choose to make Ryzom as peaceful or as dangerous a place as they feel fits with the story line and setting of the game. There could be planets out there with life on it very different than earths' where we would not be so dominant over.

I like the fact that Ryzom is not always a cakewalk and takes some thought and planning......aye some definite strategy. I do understand it can also be no fun if a game is too hard, but I don't think Ryzom falls into this category.

Right, so what exactly does this have to do with SoR? If for some odd reason i wanted to read about guns and slaughtering animals i would go elsewhere to do it. Strangely i come here to read about the game :(

I'm lost by all this.

Does that mean I'm about to get eaten by animals?

Exactly, I loved it when it was easier. I could explore more and it was fun. I didnt need an entire group just so I could look at a certain area from a certain mountain, which, btw, a group wouldn't be assembled for because people would complain and say that it is worthless.
