Voted no, cause I think it should work this way:
- If you leave a PVP area for a non-PVP area you should be able to heal anyone in the non-PVP area (except those who also leaved a PVP area and still have the 120s timer and are "enemies")
- You shouldn't be able to get healed when leaving PVP area until the timer expires (except by "allies" who also just leaved a PVP area and have the 120s ticking down)
This way I could TP out from roots and rez someone, but couldn't TP out just to get healed up.
Edit: after PVP rework will be done, then there won't be problems of "innocents" dieing to PVP in a PVP zone, and if you want to help a PVP enabled player you must get PVP enabled yourself so it can't be exploited (invincible healers).
It's an interesting question however if 'neutral but PVP enabled' will be supported and if yes who a neutral player should be allowed to heal in a FvF area - which the whole of Atys will become in the end, if I read it right.

Yes on being able to heal anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances - even if there's a penalty imposed to prevent exploits ('unattackable' healers with PvP- switch thrown would be one exploit).amitst wrote:This has come up alot and is mentioned several times in the discussion thread for todays news post.

I'd be ok with taking a fame hit or becoming 'attackable' if healing someone with their worldwide faction PvP switch turned on. Not being able to heal other players is incredibly annoying and frustrating to me.
I do NOT want to see players able to attack anyone, anywhere, however. I see everyone's point on how it could be used as an exploit to be able to heal anyone at anytime, but it messes up the other types of game play. I think a better solution would be once you tp out of a PvP battle or event you should'nt be allowed to tp back to that region for a certain amount of time. I don't know what the time limit would be. Even better, if in PvP combat one shouldn't be able to TP at all until one side is the winner whether it is one vs one, team vs team or guild vs guild. If one side wants to escape make em have to run and evade till they reach a portal or another region.

I can see how this can be exploited, but it is a wait time of 15 second+loading each time, should cut down a bit on it.
As to why I voted yes, 2+ teams trekking through PvP zones (Zora to Fairhaven for instance).

magick1 knows what I'm talking about lol. That is exactly what I mean that it messes with other types of game play. Not to mention if you are just passing through PR or one of the faction zones, a poor but beautiful tryker girl has blown herself up digging, and you want to do the right thing and rez her and can't. Heck, I even rez the funny looking ones.

The whole point on being unattackable while healing is moot since they could make it such that you are attackable if you heal someone engaged in PVP activities.
I don't see any "exploit" besides that. Regardless, the situation where I was thinking of is where all of the players involved are in the pvp zone and attackable.
There is the slim chance that someone tries to be annoying by killing rezzing and repeat, but that isnt any worse than killing and not rezzing. It could cause a problem if kills were tallied, but they are not.

It means that you can not heal after teleporting out of a pvp zone (and can not be healed) BECAUSE you could teleport right back close to a pvp zone.
How does this affect being able to heal anyone? teleporting back would put you in the PVP zone again, and you have to stand still to teleport

Voted no, would like to have said yes it should be a matter for judgement but with the current, errmm how shall we say, niggles that PvP are throwing into the mix giving some people the abilty to rez kill for further inane amusement is not a good idea

I think you should be able to heal anyone of same faction regardless of team setup, but think if u r fighting and drop a heal bomb on tanks it will heal opponents as well which wouldnt b a good thing.
but its a bit pre-emptive poll as PvP stuff not compete yet.
