Haven't seen you at any of the recent events Raynes, perhaps you'd have less reason to whinge if you participated.

Paying for something doesn't give you a right to complain, having a legitimate reason to complain does.

Money is just a unit of exchange.
It's not dead???? The game doesn't have more than 20 people in a zone at a time. I can go an entire night and run into one person in most of Witherings.

It's not stale??????
In the past 6 months exactly what has happened concerning the Kami and Karavan? What about the Kitin? What about the politics of any of the races? What about any new discoveries that had an effect players could experience? The turth is the story and the game world is EXACTLY the same as it was in December of 2004.

As for participation. I shouldn't have to be online for events to feel like a game isn't stale or dead. And trust me 6 months in an MMO with no content updates is a VERY valid reason to complain.

"It's not dead????"

Nope.

"The game doesn't have more than 20 people in a zone at a time. I can go an entire night and run into one person in most of Witherings."

And how many zones and how many lands. If they're not where YOU are what does that actually mean? The world is a big place and not everyone logs in during the same hours, but it is far, far, far, far from dead.

"It's not stale??????"

Nope.

"In the past 6 months exactly what has happened concerning the Kami and Karavan? What about the Kitin? What about the politics of any of the races? What about any new discoveries that had an effect players could experience? The turth is the story and the game world is EXACTLY the same as it was in December of 2004."

The game world is largely the same, save for shifted spawns and wandering bosses, various adjustments and changes but the Kami/Karavan conflict hasn't been the centre of the game during this last period. We've had events establishing some of the political structure, we've had events to do with the Kitin, both Nevrax and Guide oriented (tear of the kitin). It is only lately that the Kami/Karavan conflict has begun to be played up and quite significantly. The espionage and the actions against the 'spies' in the last event have implications regarding tidings posts, hints of new content and other matters spreading back over that whole time. Oba, Wormy and the twins have been a lot of the focus over that period with many events that people could participate in.

People have also had the chance to explore, experience goo infested gibbai and goo pustules, learn some extra lore from the Ency entries, storytelling events and normal events and then disseminate that information and react to it amongst themselves.

There's talk of a player organised peace conference in response to the factionalised fighting last event and that presents a real opportunity for us to define our own 'third way' in whatever is coming.

Use your brain and stop asking to be spoon fed.

Your example event is, to me, as boring and uninvolving as some of the 'listen to NPC witter on' events we endured in the early days.

"As for participation. I shouldn't have to be online for events to feel like a game isn't stale or dead. And trust me 6 months in an MMO with no content updates is a VERY valid reason to complain."

If you don't participate in the masses of content that IS there, what right do you have to complain?

'I want this apple to taste like an orange! Fix it!'

Why must content necessarily come from game alterations, stories can progress without adding ne characters.

i totally agree to this you look at any MMO on the market and they are all constantly evolving 6months without a patch on any other game would mean that there was a big patch due any day soon with masses of new content not just answers of "Soon"(TM) when asked whats going on heh

Yes! I guess there is a point where the constructive critiques have been offered; they seem to have been ignored and so the whining starts... which, yes,

and so the never ending cycle begins.....

I have a right to complain becuase things were promised and they aren't there. it's that simple.

Just because your happy with substandard support for a MMO in the area of updates and content, does not mean I have to be. And please throw back the excuse that Nevrax is a small company and doesn't have the resources of other companies. It's not an excuse. They spent millions of dollars on the game. They did their research into what is expected to run an MMO in the current marketplace. They knew exactly what was common in updates with MMO's. They might be a new company running a new game but they are not unaware of expected standards.

I hate to break it to you, but complaining about this fact endlessly will NOT bring the "new content" any quicker.

Nevrax is very limited in what they can do due to size. I have no doubts they are working as best as they can to get their new ideas into game, they want it as much as you do.

I'm totally open to filling the forum with suggestions, but when it starts filling with complaints.... that have been heard 1000 times.... well, that's when other people start to get annoyed from having to listen to it.
