Ok, I have a Tryker character that I can log in and play with no problems at all. I decided that as I had no magic skills I would create a Fyros character to try Magic out.
So, I go through character creation fine. Select destination (on newbie island), game runs through the loading bars and fills them all nicely. Then the game just sits there. So I Ctrl Alt Delete out, game is running, so I end it.
Log in my Tryker character just fine. Quit game, wait, log in again, try Fyros, same problem again. So I tried making a Zorai.. Same problem again, just sits at the end of the loading screen!
PC is fine, Athlon 64 3400. 1 Gb RAM, Radeon X800 Pro Vid card..
Game runs smooth and fine on the Tryker character.
Please anyone, any ideas why I can't use a different character? Going to try Matis now to see what happens with that...

Ah, ok, Matis works fine.. just Fyros and Zorai won't load past loading screen.. Hmmmmm

I have actually been having the same problem with my Fyros character (still in the newbie area). With my Tryker main I have been stuck at the load screen maybe three or four times since I started playing on the 24th (I would still prefer none 
), my Fyros character on the other hand, required *four* login attempts last night (I hit alt-f4 to kill the client when it is obvious it is going nowhere), and three the day before.
I am not sure what is causing this, or if it is just coincidence that Fyros seems to cause the most problems, but considering the long initial load time, it gets a bit annoying when it takes 6+ minutes to login. Especially if you just had a crash during a conversation - or worse, a trade .
