LAAAAAG---UPDATE!!!! 10/01/04
Re: LAAAAAG---UPDATE!!!!
I too played horizons at launch, this game is so much more stable there is really NO comparison at all, this is the first time i have seen a issue since they had a crash the server day in OB. Much better, client recovers well also.

Ryzom has had a pretty good launch actually, and I've been there for most mmog launches.
i have had very little lag, apart from today, seems to be the best release ive been in

Re: LAAAAAG---UPDATE!!!!
As of 0130 EST on October 2, 2004 the game seems to have come to a screeching halt. The lag came on very suddenly, and over the course of five minutes went from somewhat playable to a complete halt... waited for several minutes with the please wait icon and it never even flickered off. I had to quit the game at that point, hopefully nothing is screwed up too bad.

Yeah, I am out as well, hope we get a response soon =)
Proof
Re: LAAAAAG---UPDATE!!!!
Think about it, within ten minutes of an issue the dev team had an announcement about it. Has anyone else seen a game with that kind of attention? Besides this I have not seen any major issues either. Thanks for the effort on the lag, and hopefully it pays off soon!

*edited for gramatical corrections, note to self, do NOT post when it is time to get more caffiene in system**
Guys, I have betaed this game and Horizons, and went live with each. TRUST ME, this release is better than Horizons by an order of Magnitude.
This game has NO inventory lag (on Shadow server, you could harvest in an area for up to 45minutes, I wish I was exagerating, before you would be nailed to the ground by TEN times your carry capacity, but you could "toss it into the void" and run to the machines and wait for it to hit you again. This lag continued WELL into month five or six before they got it fixed."
This game has more than enough mobs for EVERYONE in newblands to hunt at the exact same time and not have to worry about Kill stealing or pull stealing. Horizons STILL has HUGE portions of game land that is COMPLETELY UNpopulated, no building plots, no mobs, NOTHING but landscape.
Last time I bothered to log onto Horizons, I found the combat lag to be more than I was willing to deal with, and that game turns ONE year old this December.
THIS game, if you ask a GM for help, the responce time is in seconds. Horizons has NOT had an IN game GM pressence for over seven months now, so there is NO way to get IN game help for ANYTHING. And the STANDARD email ticket reply time is two to three BUSINESS days (up to a week) and the first reply is CANNED form letter.
I found that MANY of the issues I had in beta that I had reported on were patched on release.
I found that the differences between the two games is like comparing organic carrots to canned spam(Horizons is the spam). The Devs in this game CARE and listen to us players.
SO, whatever the issue is, I trust that within a few days TOPS, it WILL be ironed out.
And NO I don't tend to be quite so optimistic and rosey with games, if it STINKS, I will say so...But so far...main complaint I have is that Matis do NOT have a visual harvest clue. LOL and I can always play my Fyros if I get sick enough of that. Well and the fact that the numbers of copies in the DFW Texas area were not a hundredth as many as it should have been. But then I think that the near BIBLICAL Hurricane season might have had a bit to do with the fact that a game being shipped from FRANCE to the US had trouble shipping. And it isn't like the game distributors can control the weather now...can they? (four hurricanes in less than 8 weeks, over the exact same counties, it is a record FYI)

Same here, but it started for me around midnight EST. My pings were going from a low of about 500, to spikes of over 10,000. I was averaging over 1,000 when I had to give up (moving was impossible). Also with this, once I cancelled, it was almost 10 minutes before all of the memory was released.
I tried logging in this morning, but the game was stuck after I selected my character.
Prior to last night, I didn't have any problems.

Lag was alright this morning (about 5 hours ago) but is now regularly stalling again.
