Here's my thoughts, for what they aren't worth :D And to explain, I am part of a guild, but I pretty much act as a lone player as far as digging/crafting goes as I'm the only Zorai in a Matis/Karavan guild.

I'm now a lvl 182 jungle harvester and I craft light and heavy armor at about ql 130. I dig all day and grind off the armor I can using those mats I dig. I tend to dig choice mats for the most part for the higher exp than fine/basic. So I make decent, but not awesome, armor. Most of the time when I'm grinding armor I turn off the boosts so I don't wipe out my focus.

When I go to sell all the grind armor back to the merchant I won't sell the armor that doesn't have boosts, it seems like a waste of time to me. If I've made decent armor I will sell at least 3-5 of each piece at only the default 100% on to the players through the merchant. I won't sell fine and below stuff because I know I wouldn't buy it if choice was available.

I hardly ever have anyone buying my stuff. I don't know if it's just not needed, or if it's not good enough, but it usually falls off the merchant. And I'm not selling it for the money. I'm trying to make it available to people at a reasonable price. If I were making items using exc/sup mats that I had dug myself, I would probably sell them for a bit more as to not weaken the market for exc/sup stuff. Because it is harder to get the mats for.

I don't craft lower ql armor for the merchants because it's a waste of the exp I would get from higher ql items. If someone asks me to make lower, I gladly do, and usually for free because I like to help.

I make about 300k-600k when I grind through the mats on two full packers. I have enough money to do what I want to do. What I want to do... buy some ql 130+ basic/fine/choice grind mats off of a merchant that don't cost 40-50k a mat.

My main complaint is that when I go to the merchants I can never find more than 15 mats in fine/basic/choice that are priced anywhere near reasonable. Sure, I'd love to buy that stack of choice desert sap, but I can't afford to pay 5 million for it. I don't think I should have to pay a months worth of income for a stack someone dug in 40 minutes. And to clarify... I don't pay the outrages prices, I just go dig it up myself and wish it would go faster. :)

I, for one, would be very happy to just dig and sell the mats on to the players at a decent price, except I just love crafting way too much to do that. Maybe I should do that. Maybe more of us should. I dunno.

A pure crafter cannot make it without a guild. There aren't any mats to buy to keep them going. And I've found that even in a large guild, unless you are the guild crafter, you still have to dig all your own mats.

I can understand guilds wanting to keep their stuff in the guild. One thing I ask though... what harm would it be to put more choice type stuff up for sale? Help make the mundane stuff more available. At a price that non-uber players can afford. It seems like the "keep it in guild" policy could actually harm Ryzom to some extent. Mind you, I'm not talking about exc and supreme stuff... unless you want to.

Sorry if this is really jumbled, I just wrote down what came to me when it did.

#1, I am fairly sure there is a 250 lvl jewlery crafter in existence on the NA server. So, Haddo an Loomas win for selling to the market, however they do not win the uber-jewler award.

Second, My thoughts.

1. There is no incentive to craft items and put them on the market at a lower Q than your highest. (Except to support the community) btw, you could have bought a Q30 or Q50 living buckler in matis last week if you were sharp.

2. The market system is rotten for determining a fair price.

3. Dapper has NO value. The only purpose of dapper is for TP tickets after a certain level. And, usually a new player will be gifted dapper till they get to that holy land.

4. This is all a result of the 'classless' system.

5. Find some good economists, and some outside of the box thinkers to solve the economy issues.

6. The market caps are a bother at best. No one even bothers to goto a city besides YRK in matis except to check for mats quickly or grab a quick mission. There is NO reason to be around another city. Oh, the NPC's there give higher lvl missions... (This is for another thread though)

Personally, I'd rather it had stayed with patrols and season time dependancy, because with this last change to mat availability, all Nevy has done is to promote 6 hour waits in one spot, all the while praying that you're the first to be waiting on this particular mat, and all that's happening is frustrated people wondering howcome they're trying so hard to pit us against each other, instead of battling these evil creatures and goo that we've been told time and time again are a danger to the planets well being as a whole. I'm sure many of us wish that Nevy would make up thier mind. Its either us vs. the kitin, or us vs. us.

If it's the latter, I for one would like to know, so I can start looking around for another game that's as close to this as possible.

iciak wrote:I have to agree here, totally. I do not care much for PvP. I'll do it, if forced, but it's nothing that excites me or that I look forward to, or will even participate in unless I have no other recourse. From what I can see, in the future developement of things, everything is starting to took like it is gearing up for huge PvP. Us vs. Us. Kami vs. Karavan. That's not what I joined for. I joined this game to fight kitin, and the goo (hence, I'm a zorai). If I wanted mass pvp with flimsy reasons for doing so, I could have stayed with Shadowbane, or Star Wars Galaxies. Shadowbane was always open PvP (no reason needed, pk at will), and SWG is gearing up to be exactly the same. So, I wish Nevrax would make a statement one way or the other as to which is truly intended, so that I can move to another game now, before I waste everyone's time, mine more importantly.

Amen to both of these comments. I've been posting in the Q&A thread about this very issue; I reposted about it again today. I'm really disappointed that outposts seem to be the typical PvP castle-seige thing, as opposed to a bastion of homins versus the Kitin.

In reference to the post a bti back regarding the "100K amps that are good and sell... and then someone 'breaks down' and buys a 400K worse amp" ... Aparently the 400K wasn't too much. Perhaps it's more than you are willing to pay but to be so bold as to speak for the entire server population? That's a bit of a stretch.

I know I'd pay everything I own for a 250 shield... because I don't yet have one and have no acess to one. 40 mil dappers for a supreme Q250 shield... sure... 80... no problem... show it to me and I'll pay whatever is asked. However.... this doesn't mean I wouldn't PREFER pay 100K for it... just that until I craft it... I'm not at liberty.... what-so-ever.... to name the price.

"I don't like digging and crafting" to me is the same as:
"I don't like wearing good armor and weapons"

Same thing... A leads to B. Not too much grey area. You don't wanna pay 34,562,878,321,567 dappers/dollars/cents/blades of grass/noodles/etc. for something. Don't. Let someone else be their own judge of what they feel is the proper price.

And if you don't have the dappers? Exchange something... a kind word... a rez if you see them dead... guard for the diggers that can get the mats you need.

We all know the mat stores reset when the server does. I know there's a few high level roots diggers who posted in this forum. Ask them what spots they need... and go there after the reset... make sure noone else digs it... and split the mats. This is why PvP is here.

Everyone whines about being friendly to everyone... and then whines when those they refuse to fight don't give them everything good.... and then whines that they refuse to achieve the levels others have because (and i love this one) "the don't like it"....

This is the game in front of you people. I LOVE it... despite reforming teams every time someone sneezes... despite knowing that mats run out very very quickly after resets. I look forward to Basic / the draygoons (really... why would you put "goons" in your guild name?) waiting for me in roots... waiting to light me up when I step foot down there.

Some of the people who have posted in this... the "fair market economy" and the "let the crafters eat the losses if theyr stuff doesnt' sell" .... I applaud you all. Let things be and let people decide for themselves what is and is not worth their time/dappers/affection.

The rest of you... pfff.

Hoping you see the light,

I do know that when Mobs used to drop more mats i would buy alot of player sold mob mats from vender to speed up my craft grinds. This gave hunters dapper and crafters a need for dapper for all those mob mats, then they disided to nerf drops. :(

try searching for a Q 230 amp and up, those are guild only item. there should be some sort of mission that allow players to craft item to put on the market for sale otherwise the market will be dry.

I see a lot about the devs nerfing things. Did you think that maybe it was supposed to be that way to begin with? Could it have been a bug? Nah, bugs are only things that are not in our favor. Im not saying this is necessarily the case all the time, but I see a lot of *****ing about ppl saying how the devs nerfed this and then nerfed it again just for an extra chuckle.

Ok, so lets take away the freedom of the market. Make it so that relations between guilds and individual players means nothing. That will definitely help it. If you are hurting for a q230 amp real bad find a friend that is making amps. Now find others that want the amp. Now go out and dig and dig and dig and pump him up to q230. So you have to dig for him and you dont get the full benefit? Well that is how you succeed, help others so they can help you. Dont think the game should be fixed so that the amps MUST be provided on the market.

What happens if someone is a low digger like me. I just got to pulling Q 110 mats and i need a q 230 amps not even omega has that such mat pullers :S and the ppl that can actually dig and craft amp is guild only. If there break the rule there can risk getting kicked out of the guild so even if it is friend or not, dont think anyone will break rules just to craft amp for players.

Dont blame the devs for this situation. On the EE server Q230+ amps are sold outside of guild.
