New to Crafting Question

Post by jeff28 »

I am at new to crafting and curently level 12. I want to craft heavy armor but do not see it as an option. Is there a skill level or do you have to learn the patern in medium first? Any help would be appreciated or a website which could help me.

thanks

There's a skill level. I don't remember the exact value; it's either 20 or 50. You don't need to learn medium first.

If you open up your action menu ("a" key) you can expand the crafting tree one branch higher than the branch you are currently on. You can then look and see what plans you'll be able to get when. Hope this helps.

The heavy armor plans become available at crafting L20. So you should just grind out light armor boots until you get there and can then train in the heavy armor patterns.

Keeping on topic, anyone know what's up with staffs? I don't see anybody using them or crafting em, is there a reason for it?

From what I've been told, they're....useless. x.X;;;

Not sure. Never bothered buying one and since there seems to be no demand for the, no one is crafting them. Maybe they served another purpose before and were useful.

Staffs are fantastic for grinding 1-h melee. They only take two different types of mats, so foraging is a lot quicker then for other weapons. As for fighting with them, that I couldn't comment on.

1. The damage staffs do are laughable.
2. They are smash damage which IMO is the worst of the three types of mele damage.
3. Its one handed skill that splits from mace at 151 (I serously doubt anyone would pursue this skill tree).
