I can not believe that this was an intentional change.
Yesterday I had to zigzag or slowdown/stop once or twice so as not to run out of range of a timari when I was killing it with ranged weapons. Today it is able to keep up with me without gaining or losing a single meter of distance.
A few days ago when I did the testing... I could run 568meters between two waypoints I had set for that exact purpose in:
with NO ground clutter
96 seconds in first person.
113 seconds in third person.
with FULL 100% ground clutter
166s in first person.
136s in third person.
Today... the same tests between the same waypoints work out as follows:
With NO ground clutter
103 first person.
112 third person
with FULL 100% clutter
108 first person
115 third person
It's very nice that we don't seem to run quite as slow with maxed clutter, but lower framerates will still lower your speed. Changing the game so you ran slower when you did everything you could to raise framerate, short of upgrading a video card, is a bad thing.

Re: Something changed with regards to run
This is probably do to them trying to balance everyones run to be the same outcome.
Say you have an uber p4 machine, top of the line everything, and you can outrun everybody. This is not good.
Now say you have a p4 bottom of the line with average everything, and everyone outruns you all the time and you have to shout "Stop, wait up, my pc stinks" this is not good.
So it looks like there trying to balance the system.

Any newer games use the time between frames to calculate position in the next frame (old games don't, hence you can move insanely fast when running them on newer computers).
That means there are, at least, two critical parameters which must be accurate during the game.
- Measuring of time between previous frames.
- Predicting the finish time on the next frame.
Looks like the devs have improved that
PS. If your game have heavy read from the HD while you move about, try defraging your HD.

Re: Something changed with regards to run
i've noticed that there has been an increasing amount of graphical lag and cpu lag in the games. since patch 1 i've had more and more lag due to cpu and graphics, especially in the cites
personally i think there's either a problem with a slow mem leak with either ryzom or windows. it could also be windows not clearing out it's memory or swap file correctly, after i play ryzom for several hours my laptop slows down a lot
i have defragged and the same result
