invasion strategy

Post by lootking »

ok, alot of people seem stuck on the wanting to get the secretions to the harvest camp.

they think, that because you get 3x as much mats as you hand in, that this is a gain

let me tell you all the losses

first, the ground secretions are guarded, fairly heavily.

second, noone has found higher than q80 that i know of, although, i dont think this seems to matter as far as avaialability of coupons for higher Q missions, im not sure on that, sorry :)

thirdly it takes quite long to get a good group together, get organised, get to the area, clear the aggro, make your way to the secretions area, and harvest them

fourth, and most important, is the retarded runaround you will have to do after you hand in your secretions. here is how it works

1- hand in secretions at harvest camp
2- go to craft camp, take mission, finish first mission wihtout any wondermats, get package and preorder form
3- take preorder form back to harvest camp to get the "free" mats
4- go back to craft camp , take a mission, now u can use the free mats u finally have, finish mission, most likely having to use a few of your own mats (99 isnt enough for some things they want crafted). maybe get another preorder form, maybe not, depends if any are available

this is incredibly time consuming

i can tell you from mine and my guildies time tests, that i can create more packages by NOT doing secretions. i just harvest like normal, fill with mats i know ill need, head to craft camp, take missions and craft till im empty. this makes me 3 packages on average. then im right back to harvesting , very fast, very efficient

remember folks, the goal is to get packages to the fight camp, not dig for secretions :)

each package creates a soldier for our army

i really hope that gets the high harvesters and crafters in on this. its very easy to help if you follow my method. you can help SOLO :) u can help FAST u can help LOTS

edited out an error, sorry for the misinfo , its fixed

By all means, if that's your way of helping the effort, then go for it. That's great if you can turn in lots of packages.

For me, I had so much more fun tonight than I'd have ever had sitting in a resource field harvesting on my own for mats. I understand that you think that's the only way we should be going about it but for me that's not too fun and I play this game for one and only one reason, to have fun doing it.

I'd certainly like to think I'm not alone in feeling that tonight's efforts in BB were some of the most fun we've had in the game so far.

Thanks for the post... It reminds me of an old saying "More than one way to skin a Kitin".

Anyway you slice it, its gonna be time consuming. If you have a good group going (like the great group we had last night which you were part of) we were able to get 30 secretions in no time at all, and we were able to deliver them almost immediately. No time for zoning, no time for collecting a bag or mektoub full of mats, zoning again, swimming around aggros with mektoub in tow, zoning again. You still have to clear the crafter camp, make it to the war camp to turn in the package.

The theory we were working on is that if the supplier has enough secretions several crafters could grind away without zoning. And if we are running from node area to node area, clearing mobs, ducking patrols and defending from warrior attacks that maybe no one will notice how time consuming it was (e.g. having fun).

I will acknowledge that 95% of the guard groups in Bounty Beaches have been provided by the Harvest-Mats-For-Equipment Method... But if we manage to increase our output of the guards using the method designed into the event then its to our benefit to try.

I'll probably be in Muse pulling mats as well. At least until I can get team going again for another try at the secretion nodes.

its really fun to take 10 packages, hand em in, and watch all the guards pop up. its killer fun to know i contributed, by myself, that much aid, that easily. thats fun to me, guess to each their own.

but, the point is to beat the kitins, and if you feel, like i do, that time is of the essence, then...........

lets see, for me -portal to enchanted isle, either tp, get harvesting, fill bag in 1.5 hrs, portal to muse, run down through portal to BB, craft and hand in. done, 3 packages

if i need loria, i take a quick death port, eta to harvesting, 3 min, fill, portal to muse, etc etc

how fast are u guys makin packages

Special thanks to the guild members of Synergy, Sacred Order, Pegasus Foundation, Wanderers of Atys and my fellow guildies for a wonderful evening!
The Kitins didn't know what hit them (I heard a couple laughing but they didn't laugh long)!

Highlights:
Cleared Crafter Camp
Delivered enough packages for three guard groups
Cleared Harvestor Camp
Cleared a Q80 field of secretions
Alphina lost her armor in the middle of battle (at least she wore clean undies)
Rescued Dawley (again!)
No group got wiped!

Thanks for all your help!

an excellent job, excellent teamwork, and good things were definately accomplished. but it wasnt overly productive considering man hours in to packages out, and thats all im saying.

i just want anyone who is not able to give hours and hours to do the whole thing (harvests to package hand in) with a group to know there is a still a great way to help out, a bit at a time.

packages are light, and they stack, so you can save them up till youre ready to go with a group to hand them in (read that as making it a worthwhile trip). get everyone in the group to have 10-20 packages to hand in, and boom, you got an instant army.

What I've been doing so far is just fighting and would like to put my foraging/crafting skills to use but I'm still a little unclear on what we can hand in if we do our own foraging and crafting. Can we just hand in 5 of any items? Is it item specific? And I take it I have to get a mission, then craft, then turn in? And do I get the mission from the same person as I hand in items to? And which person would that be? Is it a different title for each land? And which camp do we turn into? Does turning in only create guards for that camp, or for all camps in that land?

I believe there's some variation in the items asked for in each land but in Tryker it's one of:

5 Pikes
7 Lances
4 Heavy Vests
8 Shields

The NPC will ask for items of at least quality 50, 100, 150, 200.

So if you get a batch of 10 pikes together, you can go talk to the crafter NPC, who is located in the camp just inside the entrance to BB, and turn them in for 2 packages, 2 tokens, and 2 coupons (if the harvester has mats available).

The packages are for delivery to the armory master at the war camp. For every 5 packages, a guard group is created.

The coupons can be turned in at the harvester camp for 99 generic raw material. The quality of the material will match the quality you chose for turning in your items.

The tokens are yours to trade in at the war camp for rewards. It takes a significant number of tokens for rewards and tokens can be obtained in different ways during the event.

NOTE: When turning in crafted items, only turn in one batch at a time and then go into your mission log and click "Finished". Then talk to the NPC to take the mission again and turn in the next batch. If you turn too many items at once, I think you just lose them.

Forgot to answer a couple of your questsions. You don't have to get the mission, then craft, then turn the items in. In fact, you don't even have to craft the items yourself. You could walk up there with a batch of pikes that someone else crafted and take the mission and turn them in.

Yes, it's the same NPC that you get the mission from that takes the crafted items. That's the crafter NPC in the first camp in BB.

As for harvesters, there are resource nodes in BB that give "Kitin Secretion" that can be turned in to the harvester camp. For every 30 secretion, 99 generic raw material gets added to the pool. This causes coupons to be available to the crafters to obtain the generic raw material.

As for titles of NPCs in different lands, I'm not sure what they're specifically called but each land has the three camps and equivalent NPCs.

Meestor has a good way of doing the Crafting mission, others are doing it the hard way because they like the excitement of the battle to try to accomplish the same thing.

In Matis lands, the simplest way to contribute as a crafter / harvestor is to go to the southern end of psykopla knoll (where bodokin resides), just south of the enterance is a small grove with 3 or 4 trees in it, (between Knoll and Road)

In this area, you will find:
Wood, Sap, Resin, Oil
(also has shell, fiber, gem)

From there you harvest until your full, notice that your about 350M now from crafter camp, so you can run up, do the mission, run back, rince and repeat.

Alot of people don't know, or didn't know about this area.
Give it a try :)

edit:
As a side note, I did this last night with a packer, had help from a guild mate, and was able to create enough amor for 12 packages that I turned in.

I crafted as I harvested and put the Pyrok vests on the packer, once he was full (rather I was to tired to continue working on it) I went to camp and unloaded, then went to melee camp and turned in, I got 2 full groups of warriors to show up and cruise to the Knoll of Dissent
