It seems that if you do not give them EXACT quantity of mats that they request, you will lose those mats. It seems to only work if you give them TOO much as you still are given the oportuniy to give them more if you are under... but be warned I have lost over 200+ mats and 80 Matis Tokens!
At first I was trying to turn in the regular Matis tokens in for some prime ones, I gave the treasury guy only ONE token, the GIVE button lit up... I didn't hit it, instead I asked all around me if it was okay to do so or would I lose it? They said give EXACT amount only... well i tried to put in 10 tokens in but instead it put in 39 (out of the orignal 40 i had) so i was wierded out that i had lost ONE token, i said 'BAH', then i tried to take out the remaining 39 tokens, but once I took it off the trade menu, it was gone forever... so 40 tokens gone... I sent in Bug Report in and tolk Mind, I would try to repoduce it, and reproduce it I did! I have my bag full of claws, then I go to the War chief guy, gave him 6 mats instead of 5, bam 6 lost... then i sent in message to Mind about it... then I do the regular 5 mats per 1 Token deal, i accept the Take All each time, but to my surprise when I check my inventory, i only have ONE token in my inventory! Just ONE! After around 200 claws exchanged... so I warn you folks, please be careful! Yes I sent in the latest bug report to Mind also...

Tryker's version of the event seems to be very bugged.
The event is held in Bounty Beaches, pink nasty mobs, L150-200?
There are three outposts. Each outpost has a Master_Event NPC.
The first NPC we found was the Crafter NPC. He tells you that he will give you tokens, a coupon, and a voucher if you craft items for him. Your choices are Q50, Q100, Q150 shields, pikes or heavy vests. He mentions that the coupons and vouchers are needed to talk to the other Master_Event NPC's (bug: he says Matis when he means Tryker). You get a mission entry (bug: the mission step chimes after every click or when you get chased off by a Cute) that says "craft items". After using some advance reading comprehension skills (and guessing) we went and crafted enough equipment to fill his order. We return and give him what we've made (the NPC says to give it to the armour_master but he actually takes it). We recieve one token and one package. The NPC says take it to the other camp (fight camp).
A L150+ group cleared the way to the 2nd camp where we found the next Master_Event NPC, this time for warriors. The camp was well guarded only non-aggros allowed in. We turned in our package and says that vouchers are all gone but we could go to the harvest Master_Event (I think he said Matis again here too). We picked up the "kill the invaders" mission just in case one of them fell over from laughter at the sight of my puny q80 pike. The L150+ group (btw, thanks Synergy and special thanks to Melodie, Nuit, Dreamin!!) cleared the way again to the Harvest Outpost. We found the outpost overrun with local mobs (Kincher, Kipesta, Zerx) and without guards. The L150 group was promptly wiped out and we fell in short order (1 or 2 hits each).
Bug: NPC's mission text mentions Matis instead of Tryker

I realize this event was probably specific to the L150+ crowd and hordes of them working together. But the Crafter missions imply that you don't have to be a warrior to complete the missions... You don't even have to be a high level crafter.
Hope this helps those who venture into BB looking for tokens and glory. I think everyone ran off to defend Matis but still... I wanted to defend my homeland and got spanked. Fighting against invasion and local mobs is one thing, being handicapped by the event system, game mechanics and bugs is another.
Still a strong believer in Jena and the Karavan way. (Translation: I love this game but it gets on my nerves sometimes...)

The talk tree with the crafting mission NPC was definitely confusing.
When I first talked to him, he said he'd give me "preordered command coupons" which I'd give to the material supplier in exchange for some generic raw material which I'd then use to craft items for the battle. That sounded pretty straightforward and, hey, it actually made sense.
But after talking to him, I had no coupons and the only option was to give him the items I'd crafted. So we went ahead and gathered our own mats and crafted the items and gave them to him. At that point, he says, "unfortunately, we're all out of preordered command coupons so i can't give you any more...". Hmm, where were the first ones????
What he did give us was a package to deliver to the combat NPC in the second outpost and a token. Still nothing to do with the material NPC and the generic raw materials he spoke of. Unfortunately, the NPC we're supposed to deliver the package to was hidden behind a ton of L100+ mobs. We did manage to tag along with a high level group and get there but it's hardly practical for a Q50 crafter to be able to do that enough to get enough tokens for anything. I guess it's really intended for the Q150 fighter that does crafting on the side and only has Q50 crafting.
I'd really love to see events in the future that allow more involvement with players of all levels. They could have had NPCs in several different regions with mobs of different levels and have the missions based on your level in that area. So if you talk to the crafter NPC in bounty beaches, he'd say "you're crafting is too low, perhaps the other crafters could use your help". But then you could talk to another crafter in a lower level region who would have a mission for you.
Right now, the storyline revolves around fighting off the kitin invasion. I feel like to participate in this storyline, I pretty much need to be a L150 fighter. Is that really the intent of the game? Level up then start getting involved in the storyline? I'd much rather see a game where you get involved in the storyline when you first hit the mainland.

This sort of thing often happens when you do that type of thing. Generally, if you have not crafted anything, have not created a sap crystal, have not looted (not 100% sure), and have not moved stuff around on your packers (not 100% sure), you can get them back just by relogging. I started this event in Matis, as this is where i had logged out the night before. I met up with local homin in the north of Majestic Gardens where many were yelling about an invasion. When i arrived, the Kitin there were very easy to kill and were being slaughtered by a ton of Matis.
Majestic Garden being where it is on the map and with all the Matis towns in it, i assumed this same thing was happening in Aedea Aqueous Lakelands. So i ported there to help my fellow tryker.
Upon arrival there was nothing... no signs of Kitin anywhere in the Lakelands. Nobody said they had seen anything. We searched everywhere in the lakelands and there were no kitin like this.
It wasnt til we got to Bounty Beaches that we saw the new outpost, and found the crafting camp.
Im just curious, is there supposed to be kitin like the level of those in MG in the lakelands somewhere?
Also, do they test these "Invasions" out on ATS beforehand?

We made a lot of progress tonight with the invasion in Bounty Beaches... I think we got a good understanding of how things are supposed to work and how to work around most of the bugs. Its not easy... and its not for the light hearted or light armored.
We managed to carry 5 packages from the Craft_master_event NPC from the craft outpost to the armoury_master NPC in the War Outpost. When we gave those 5 packages, 5 new guards appeared. They headed off to their post (we didn't think to follow them). We had hoped they went to the Harvest Camp to defend it but that wasn't the case. We then proceeded (again thanks to Synergy!) to the Harvest camp where we finally got to talk to the NPC there. It wasn't as full of aggros this time. It only took a few minutes to clear. The NPC there said to forage for kitin secretions. Said we could hunt for them as well but foraging was easier. (HA!!). We noticed some freebie nodes near the camp and proceeded to cut a path through the hordes of mobs to check them out. Sure enough these nodes weree Kitin secreations. Prospecting the area didn't turn up hidden nodes so we concentrated on these nodes. The mission calls for 30 units and after fighting for 6 holes and only getting 10 units and then getting wiped by Elite Raiders we decided that the NPC's idea of easy was waaay off. We decided to hunt for the secretions. The mobs turned out to be very stingy with the secreations and we have yet to meet our quota.
Yes, once again the Trykers have it hard. I urge all to muster their friends and guildies to come to Trykerland for a real challenge. We must save our homeland from the invaders! We had 17 players working together as a single team tonight, I commend them all. But its gonna take more than that to build up the outposts and stave off the invasion.

The reason there was no preorder token thingy to give you is people haven't been turning in enough secretions. The secretions are the key to this stage of the event, I think everyone has turned in plenty o' claws. MUST GET THE SECRETIONS!

In Knott of Dementia the freebie nodes by the supply camp showed up sporadically. But at all times I could prospect to reveal secretion nodes in that general area. I was figuring the freebies were just a convenient marking saying "prospect here". The area was also free of kitins. I have no idea where secretions of higher than Q80 can be found in Witherings and the Q80 area depletes rather quickly.
