Playing SoR on dial-up?

Is it even possible? Ok, here is the senario. My brother and I played SoR when it was released back in 04' and while we both had disconnect issures, his were much worse. That was back when we on Windermeer, I was on cable and he was on dial-up (he lives out in the boonies). Fast foward about 2 years ...

Greetings all, again.....

I was in the beta for SoR, and played it for about a month of so on release. The problem then was I was playing with my brother (who being stuck on dial up) and he had alot of connection problems and via frustration, quit. I was alone and ended up canceling at lvl 39 or so. After a 18 month or so ...

Re: High-End Melee?

Wasn't planning ong going dual daggers primarily, jsut for those occations when I want to rais that skill to keep it up with 1-hander. I plan on going 1hand sword/dagger as my primary attack. But if that is the case with daggers being speed capped, I'll need to start looking for the slowest ones I ...

Re: High-End Melee?

Actually they have been rather impressed with it. I dont do as much damage and I miss alot, but then again, Im usually the lowest meleer out there too. But I do hit, and I do manage to pull aggro away from people almost 40 lvls higher than me with regularity (against stuff almost 2x my highest skill ...

Re: High-End Melee?

Thanks to everyone for the advice on this. After a couple days of really pondering it, I decided to go full bore into dual wielding. As expected Close Combat is falling behind, but it's something I can work on later. I'm going to experiment with soloing dual daggers, just to keep them up abit since ...

Re: High-End Melee?

Gotcha. Ok, I"m going to dump that 2hander and go with the sword/dagger combo and play they way I want to play.

Since there are no bows on Atys ;)

Re: High-End Melee?

Ok, I feel a little better now. It's going to be very tough for me NOT to min/max though (recovering powergamer, sorry!) However, I really would much perfer to dual wield, it just feels more like "me". It will be very tough coming to terms that it's not "efficient" getting there though. Old habits ...

Re: High-End Melee?

One handed sword is perfectly effective just on its own. It's not *as much* damage as a 2 handedd weapon, but it will work perfectly fine in a duo team, or even solo. If you choose to use a dagger in the off hand for a little extra damage or to equip a shield for better defense is up to you. Both ...
