Re: Pumpkin Killed Me

I'm back in game. I was being too impatient. It seemed to lock-up after entering my password but after waiting about a minute it patched. Seems fine now. Thanks :-)

Re: Economics and scarcity in Ryzom

I think some people just don't get that market commerce is a feature which many players enjoy in a mmorpg. They'd like to have it in Ryzom too. Asking for free gear in chat is not commerce. Sure it is easy to do. No, there is nothing wrong with it. But it does not provide the economic mini-game that ...

Re: Ryzom Re-review on mmorpg.com

The reviewer said lots of true things but fell down on three issues: 1) He can't see past the holy trinity of tank/healer/dps so he didn't give proper credit to the flexibility of the skill system in Ryzom. 2) He had performance issues. Nothing wrong with mentioning that but he should have checked ...

Re: Introducing the Knights of Jen-Lai

From another newly established Zorai guild, let me say a very enthusiastic hello! I can't speak for anyone else in our guild, but I spent the better part of a year on the Nimue server in DaoC (Midgard forever!) Midgard forever indeed! Nimue is where I got my Midgard fix as a member of Vardr ok ...

Introducing the Knights of Jen-Lai

Who We Are: The Knights of Jen-Lai are a group of friends who began playing pencil-and-paper RPG's together back in 1979. Today we keep in touch by playing MMORPG's. Our group has expanded to include our children and other new friends. We are very casual gamers and most of our activity is centered ...

questions about ranged combat

Hello folks. I just returned to Ryzom after an absence of several years. When I left, ranged weapons were extremely underpowered compared to other combat skills. I'm wondering if that is still the case. I know there have not been many patches over the years but I'm hoping a fix to ranged weapons was ...

Re: Information Request

There is one positive thing about the delivery and foraging missions as they are now. They encourage and reward exploration. Once I saw how these missions worked I explored every town and area of Cities of Intuition and mapped the locations of every important NPC (ones with titles other than Guard ...

Re: Suggestions Concerning the Map Notes

These changes would certainly make it easier to forage and complete delivery missions. Is that the intent? If #5 makes it easier to transfer map data between players then it largely eliminates the requirement for exploration. Is that a good thing? I suppose at some point the location of everything ...
