Re: Disconnects due to 2 people playing ryzom on the same LAN....?
Does this also hold true for mixing two different games on the same router? I sometimes boot up DAOC and craft while I am playing SoR. I get computer freezes on the SoR machine. Is that the same problem? BP If I read Zerlin's description of the Linksys NAT / UDP problem correctly, you should not ...

* Now that are more players, thus more mats available on the merchants, that the herbivores drop has been increased, does this mean that the mat merchant will be a satisfactory money sink? I used to say that dappers were pretty much useless but lately I am finding myself spending more and more ...

Equipped item decay when crafting except for the crafting tool . It is a POINTLESS (mis)feature that has no useful purpose other than to be a medium sized irritant when I'm crafting. Gotta make something? OK, un-equip 10 pieces of jewellry and 5 pieces of armor. Make item(s). Put jewels and armor ...

Re: Handy macro for foragers
yeah i'm going to have to agree with rushin.. the need of knowing what is in the source first is pretty important. nothing worse than digging a node with 9 mats in it when you normally dig twice that. Piece of cake. I have JUST the targetting commands in a macro. Hit that, you have the resource ...

Re: Its a Karavan's World, Too bad Im not planning be part of it.
The plan is to reward time spent in R2 scenarios with XP catalyzers to make back that lost time leveling. Interesting. This has the stench of an exploitable game mechanic. In the words of a quote from ID's game Doom, "It stinks like rotten meat." I just hope Nevrax are planning somthing to prevent ...

Re: Its a Karavan's World, Too bad Im not planning be part of it.
Play in the bits me (and others) plan to create. That may become strictly end game material. Since any XP / items gained in a R2 scenario do not remain with the character, there is a tremendous penalty in terms of character progression if you undertake a R2 scenario at mid levels. Sure it's all ...

ooc: 5th point and not sure how to put it in RP terms is the resulting Faction war over the OPs. While the lore and Saga pointed to guild v. guild mechanic, the devs had to realize that alliances may form by Alliance and that it might be faction v faction until one side won. I have to wonder if the ...

Re: Disconnects due to 2 people playing ryzom on the same LAN....?
Was talking to kvaran on this. LinkSys has some issues with doing NAT on UDP protocol when dealing with two or more machines accessing a remote server on the. The only workable solution is to DMZ one of the machines and have port triggering enabled for the other. Holy ****. There is no excuse for ...

Re: Time to look at ranged finally?
Voted in favor of ranged getting some TLC. However, that is contingent on the Devs having the time available to look at it. With all the other irons they have in the fire now, ranged does need to be a lower priority than some (e.g. R2). I just don't like the idea of it slipping off their radar and ...

Re: XP Cats: a right or a reward?
If I bust my butt fighting for an OP and then fighting off various attacks, why should I then be sharing my well earned reward with those who have steadfastly refused to help me? You do have a valid point here. However, that approach is the first step down the road to making PvP a means to an end ...
