This game needed more testing before it came out. Each patch should have been thoroughly system and integration tested before release - thats basic software development principles. It didn't really need more testing, since most of the bugs and missing features people run into now were already ...

some kind of in-game forum/buletin board (1 per region or 1 per city) where crafters can list the items they want to sell, with stats and price.

With "deposit tracking" finding sources in any lands is relatively easy. It's a lot easier to just run up to a spot where you know there is some material that you need. The IMO safest way to pull a mob out of a group is to fear it (don't hold the spell). This aggros it, but does not activate the social aggro of nearby mobs so you can let it follow you to a safe location.
