I'd like an answer to this question also. Rather frustrating that it is so hard to find answers to the very basic mechanics of the game . . . I take it this means it is possible to master every branch in the game. So if someone wanted to be a master heavy, medium, light armor crafter, master jewel ...

What about when using ranged weapons (i.e., ranged fighting)? How does one's defense compare to a mage or a melee respectively here?

Now the server shows as being back online, but I'm getting a "error:the shard is closed." message after hitting accept to the eula.
