Re: To be or not to be....OpenGL or Direct3D
unfortunalty as i stated when using the forced OpenGL setting the game wont run in full screen mode. so unless nevrax decides to toss in a little more OpenGL lovin im gona have to go with the forced D3D mode as my auto detect mode defaults me to the OpenGL configuration. more than likely because, as ...

Re: Radeon Mobility 9200: "The client failed to allocate AGP memory"
Another sugestion for you to ponder is an "at your own risk" suggestion that has helped me in the past with performance issues on my old windowsME system. im not sure what the article number for it is anymore as its been a couple years since i looked at it but there is an article in the microsoft ...

Re: To be or not to be....OpenGL or Direct3D
actualy running my NVidia card in OpenGL mode forced the game to once again "forget" that it is supposed to be in fullscreen mode. but i did notice slightly smoother performance in OpenGL mode (less "please wait" lag boxes). just to bad i cant use it in fullscreen mode like its supposed to be or i ...

Well when i ...

Re: Radeon Mobility 9200: "The client failed to allocate AGP memory"
Thanks for the reply. This actually clears things up for me, quite a bit. My laptop has 512 MB of RAM, but right now 64 MB of that are allocated to video memory, which leaves me with 448 MB of RAM--64 MB below the minimum requirements to run the game. I had wondered about this; your explanation ...

Re: To be or not to be....OpenGL or Direct3D
thanks for the reply, i think ill test out the OpenGL settings tonight and see if i notice any reasonable diference in game performance. So far i have been lucky enough not to have any performance issues other than the full sceen bug (knock on wood).

Re: Radeon Mobility 9200: "The client failed to allocate AGP memory"
When it comes to laptop hardware the "key" thing to remember is this. all hardware for a laptop with the exception of system ram is " built-in" to the motherboard. when your talking about alocating AGP memory a laptop has to take that memory from the system memory to run. if your laptop only has 512 ...

To be or not to be....OpenGL or Direct3D
I guess im not realy clear on wich rendering option is the best choice here. What im looking for is, wich rendering option provides the smoothest, best looking game experience? Or is there any real diference in the performance of the two options at all? I'm having the problem of the client not ...
