Some thoughts/suggestions from a returning newbie
Hello all, Decided to post this message after discussing a topic in-game with someone whilst foraging. In my short time back, I've come to re-learn, or at least remember some stuff I'd forgotten in my long time away. The basics of some things remained, but the finer details disappeared completely ...

Re: Some thoughts from a returning player
Thats very true, I've played 'em all and keep coming back to Ryzom which I consider to be my natural home :) That's kinda how I am with FFXI. No matter what happens, I always will play that game 'til they take it offline for good. But Ryzom (why isn't it "Saga of Ryzom" anymore, btw?) is definitely ...

Some thoughts from a returning player
Hi all, Just dropping in to say hi and say that, man it's cool to see this game actually getting another go. That they're adding a subscription is, in my opinion, a good thing. Some quick background... I first learned of SoR back well before it went into beta. I was taken by the style, the look and ...

Re: What music do you listen while playing Ryzom ?
Well I just came back to Ryzom (again o.o), so I can't say what I have been listening to while playing... I can say what I likely will be listening to... If not the in-game ambient sounds (for immersion factor), I'll likely be listening to any of the following: - Either of Devin Townsend's projects ...

Re: Extremes of Ryzom: Favorite vs. hated
I've been playing for a couple months now and have been drawing some pretty strong conclusions about the game, both good and bad (which is normal), that I finally feel I have enough experience to trust. One thing though I haven't done is ask for other opinions so I thought it might be a good idea ...

Re: PvP, the devil: or (to P or not to P?)
Again.. I explained that in my last post.. Someone who is a PK'er, for one, will generally attack anyone, no matter what the level... win or lose. The point that Kye is making, if I understand correctly, is not the same as what I'm talking about. There's a clear distinction that is very obvious once ...

Re: PvP, the devil: or (to P or not to P?)
I mentioned this in a previous post, but I'll say it again here ... I doubt the griefing or ganking is going to come from the current populace - or at least not much of it. I could be wrong, but I just don't imagine Ryzom being a game where that type of person would hang around waiting for the ...

Re: PvP, the devil: or (to P or not to P?)
Maybe there should be a option somewhere that ya have to tick a box that says "Yes i want to PvP" before you can enter the PvP zones, since there seems to be some anti PvP players running about these places. The "PvP On" flag idea is something that's actually been implemented in other MMORPGs with ...

Re: PvP, the devil: or (to P or not to P?)
Hey thanks! :-) Nice to get a positive response to a post like that for once.. I'm usually trounced upon harshly by all the pro-ganking and pro-griefing folks.. called a "carebear" and told to go play some PvE "carebear" game if I "can't handle it".. and so on. But, to me, that's the basic truth of ...

Re: PvP, the devil: or (to P or not to P?)
This is a great thread.. I actually read about 90.01% of the posts. I find I agree overwhelmingly with Grimjim and have experienced the same behavior in other MMORPGs with open PvP. As he so adequately put it, it brings out the worst in people. Why? Ego, mostly. Immaturity. A feeling of inadequacy ...
