Re: Community, what community?
I agree with you (Rushin) that this community has become full of hate, mistrust, and arrogance. I disagree with you that the community is becoming indistinguishabe from WoW. WoW's community does not have nearly the level of animosity, bitterness, anger, or other bad feelings. In other games, WoW for ...

Re: Eye Of Atys watches once more
I'm wishing you great success Brave and Rhae, my old guildmates! Here's to the revival of one of the oldest guilds on Atys! Anyone looking for a guild of mature friendly fun people would do well to try EoA!

Re: I cants stands no more.
Safe travels Jyudas, I've always been a big fan of your posts here (I'm a long time lurker). I wish that those in power would have taken to heart what you were saying so presciently more than a year ago. I suppose yours is not the first voice of reason to be ignored nor will it be the last. I'm ...

Re: Like kissing an old lover good bye
So long Kostika and Samsarans,
Your presence on Atys will be missed sorely by those you leave behind. You and the Samsara were a huge part of this world. Good luck to you wherever you go.
For wealth and glory!

Re: Endings
Goodbye Zahan,
You and all of the Samsara who are leaving were a big part of what made Ryzom a great world. Good luck to you wherever you go.

Re: Is it me, or are these new servers EXTREMELY Lagtacular?!?
I've got the very same problems as you Beefy. I freeze up completely about once an hour I'd estimate. Then it takes a long time to reconnect ("Error: Can't connect" message). Sigh.

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
I just wanted to clarify my response. The PvP mechanics are fine. The OP/Cat system is incredibly flawed as others have pointed out and I believe is the cause of Nevrax's demise. If I could burn all the OPs, I would in a second.

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
The mechanics of the mass PvP system is fine. In my old neighborhood when I was a kid, the neighborhood kids played football, baseball, basketball, and you know, fun stuff. If the teams weren't balanced, someone would always volunteer to go over to the weaker team to make the game fun and balanced ...

Alternative business models
My question is not directly about Ryzom, but I hope it is relevant enough at this time to be a valid post on this forum. There are some "free to play" mmorpgs out there that are completely free to play. What is their business model? Who develops them and why? How do the operating expenses get paid ...

Re: I am truly saddened...
Nevrax created a self-perpetuating two-class world of "have" and "have-nots." Under Nevrax's system, stagnant old guilds with OPs were able survive far longer than they would have without their OPs. New players and guilds with new ethusiasm and energy have a serious psychological and actual ...
