If I recall correctly, they said they would release a patch on 11/16/04 to fix combat and other stuff.

I seem to think I had this problem back during beta. Trying to remember how I fixed it. Things I've done to help fix this was changing screen resolutions, changing Default to DirectX, and setting Full Screen mode. I did it all through the Ryzom configuration program under Start button > Programs ...

Are you in windowed mode?

If so try switching to Full Screen first.

Stick with melee as your primary fighting career path, but range is better now than before.

Its worth it just to help you gain some more SP to help fill out your fighting skills.

Agreed. I never said that the pre-patch situation was ideal... but I think they really hammered us with non-required tweeks that felt like a kick in the stomach. So far my guildmates are reporting some good things about the first changes. But come on please... a level 80 melee should not be killed ...

I don't like getting aggro'd by mobs I don't get any XP for killing, just as I don't go around attacking mobs that I have no hope of being able to survive if it were to hit me once or twice.
